User ID: 381742 United States 12/06/2011 01:10 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'm sitting here in southern africa looking at the moon and it's toooooootally out of place. Quoting: stormer Please guys, take a look tonight and tell me if you see anything unusual,it's freaking me out. I can't see South Africa from here... I never forgive and I never forget I am a licensed firearm holder. I will, under protection of law, use lethal force if attacked. |

Errrm, "where it normally is in the night sky"?? How long have you been looking at the moon, because for everybody else it moves across the sky, rises and sets at different times every day or night, and is never in the same place at the same time two nights running. Thanx for the tip,but we're really 3rd world technology down here, can't even watch youtube...gotta rely on natural instincts, and my instincts are telling me shit is outta place! Quoting: stormer I call bullshit on that. If you're able to post on GLP you can browse to an online skymap - here's a couple - [link to www.astroviewer.com] [link to www.astroviewer.com] Now, maybe you can check where the moon is supposed to be and tell us if its somewhere different for you - because for everybody else it's where it should be... |

LOL - this sort of idiotic comment always makes me laugh. How exactly does "the government" (which government?) "infiltrate" all the different bits of astronomical software on people's machines all over the world, including ones not permanently online, or even connected to the net? How do they modify programs written by amateurs which aren't publically available anywhere? How do they control GOTO telescopes which don't even have network connections? How do they get into people's houses and change the contents of books which have formulae for calculating the positions of the moon and planets? How do they change all the books in libraries? How do they modify nautical almanacs, a lot of which are on boats miles out at sea? If you really think there's some sort of worldwide organisation that can do all of that, then you're probably best not logging on to the internet, because believe me, tracing you online would be a billion times easier than doing all that I described above... |
