Anonymous Coward User ID: 6423188 United States 12/06/2011 03:56 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | As most of you are aware, those of us living in the Eastern half of the United States have been noticing shaking/shuddering/quivering at different times, on a regular basis since the Virginia quake on 8/23 (many of us even experienced this before the VA quake). We've talked about the houses in Ontario rattling and shaking since February of 2011, and we've talked about the Eastern U.S. and in some cases England shaking in several threads like this one: Quoting: Shake N Quake 1158127 Thread: East coast shaking?? Now that some more time has gone by, I need your opinions on what specifically is causing this. I'm in Ramsey, NJ (that's in Northeast New Jersey, 30 minutes from New York City), and we're still experiencing the shuddering, quivering, and in some cases, low-level shaking, every day, at different times, for the past 3 months. What's odd is that it really started to become obvious and violent on 9/14-9/16, which was right on cue with that 188-day cycle that has been discussed on here. What is causing this? Is Magma actually moving under us and stacking itself up somewhere? Is there some sort of tension between our plate and another plate that is causing our plate to rattle constantly? Is the whole Earth wobbling slightly because of some approaching external force and we're just able to sense that wobbling/rattling here in the Eastern United States to as far away as England? What's happening, all opinions welcome. My personal belief is that since we're experiencing higher amounts of energy from the Sun and from the Pleadies, our Earth is raising it's vibration. Also, with our magnetic pole anomalies/shifting, the Earth is becoming degaussed. Therefore that rocks become more lubricated as their frequency is raised and vibrate at a higher rate and slip against each other. |

I'm close to the craton but not on it but is the Craton movement causing this constant shaking? |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 6644044 United Kingdom 12/06/2011 04:05 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | are they coming up against some sort of resistance as they rotate around the planet? does anyone on the east coast of Australia, or Africa feel the same, if anyone from there is on? |
Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 1158127 United States 12/06/2011 04:07 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | it's happening in the EAST of England AND the USA Quoting: Anonymous Coward 6644044 so what is it about east coasts then? well alot of people talk about Post-Glacial Rebound Effect caused by the enormous amounts of freshwater that have been added to the Atlantic Ocean, and that water weight causes isostacy which pushes the magma towards the coasts, causing rebound along the Eastern U.S. and Western Europe and Western Africa. But I'm not sure if all this shuddering and shaking that started after 8/23 was caused directly by that, or if it's caused by the Craton movement, or some sort of external force causing the Earth to wobble at different times. |
Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 1158127 United States 12/06/2011 04:09 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | the east coasts are the leading coasts in the rotation, aren't they? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 6644044 are they coming up against some sort of resistance as they rotate around the planet? does anyone on the east coast of Australia, or Africa feel the same, if anyone from there is on? Yes this is what I was thinking and I waiting for someone else to chime in about it. I've noticed that the shaking becomes most OBVIOUS at the exact same time every day. Though it happens many times on any given day, off and on, it is really obvious between 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM in the afternoon, and at 1:00 AM - 2:30 AM at night. So it's cyclical, almost as if it has soemthing to do with the east coast of the U.S. leading the rotation, and encountering some sort of resistance at specific times |
