LOL p.s sounds like you have a frayed cable somewhere in the steering. Nah, turned out to be a completely seized piston on the end of the cable. I got that thing nearly red hot and poured WD into it and BASHED THE LIVING CRAP out of it. Hopefully overnight I'll free it up a bit more and go fishing next week! Thanks mate! Hey man, I seem to have got the bloody thing a little less stuck. Not out of the woods yet, at the moment the only way I'm pushing that piston is with a lump hammer. Hopefully a little soak overnight will let me know if I'm off to a mechanic or not. As for Deb? I'd never steer a classy lady wrong. Sometimes the best fish just jump in the boat! To be honest I just wasn't confidant to burn the crap out of it and give it a bash till I was sure I wasn't missing something stupid. I'm still not sure if the damn thing is worth resurrecting, it still only moves with persuasion. I'm going to keep working on it over Christmas and make a final decision before New Year.
