Re: Wierd things you have seen in the woods.

Religious backstory: about 1 month before this I had two religious Protestant friends at my PA lake house. We were telling scary stories by the fire next to the forest behind my house. My friend, I’ll call her Kay, brought her boyfriend, I’ll call him Jay. They proceed to ask me if I want to “see them”, as in the “spirits”. I lazily said, “sure, why not”. Kay then proceeds to tell me they can see angels and demons and that once I “do this” they will reveal themselves to me and I can’t take it back. Myself, not being a religious person accepts her offer.
Jay asks if it’s ok if he prays. I said I have no problem with that. He proceeds to play a common church hymn on his cell phone, puts his hand on my shoulder and begins speaking “in tongues” (language of the divine, religious gibberish essentially). The song on the phone is playing...”holy, holy, holy...”...and as the third holy sings out, with him still praying I feel and hear what I can only describe as a thunder sound and rumbling of the earth beneath my feet and in the forest behind my house. M eyes widened and I look directly at Kay and I say, “what the hell was that?” Kay says matter of factly, “you know what that was”.
At this point I’m freaked out...I’m starting to believe a little more than I did earlier. Then...it happened again...”holy, holy, holy”...and the earth rumbled beneath my feet and a sound of thunder filled the night air. So after this is all said and done she tells me there are demons watching us from the forest and and angel on my roof. She says they will reveal themselves when they see fit.
1 month later glowing red light from the sky and glowing red eyes in the forest.

EVEN ACTER ALL THAT...another friend and I tried to replicate the experience at my lake house. Nothing happened to our disappointment. That is until the night drive home to NJ. As we drive away speaking of our dissapointment in not being able to replicate the rumbling, we turn the radio on and there...it...is...”holy, holy, holy...”
all 100% true, have multiple witnesses for each experience.

I have no problem whatsoever believing it

Freaky story right?! I could barely believe it while it was happening to us. As I said earlier I have dozens of strange and paranormal experiences I could share, but the glowing red eyes one is the most unsettling. All my other Real life stories are mainly ghost stories, 1 poltergeist story, disembodied voices, etc. run of the mill paranormal stuff. This one stands out.

Yes, I myself have spiritually seen so much that I listen carefully to other people's experiences. I have stories I would never tell people but they happened.
Anyway, wasn't Sasquatch.

Thank god for that, Deliverance just came to mind lol. Anyway I was glad to share that story as best I can typing from my cellphone after so many years. I still get nervous in the forest at dusk when I’m by myself because of the experience. I’ll be out hunting in PA on Saturday alone. hiding

Re: Wierd things you have seen in the woods.
I was living in Vail, Colorado years ago. I had a friend who had a job as the security person for a community way up in the mountains above Vail. One evening, he invited me to go with him on his security patrol.

The road to get to this community was very discreet. About a half mile up the road was a locked, fenced gate. Since he was the security, we went in. And another 2 miles of climbing mountain road.

Finally, we got to the houses. Each home was about 10,000 sq ft. and had plenty of land. Beautiful homes. And, they were all empty. It seems the people who own these homes don't actually live there, but keep them as "Vacation" homes that they never use. That's not so odd...I know.

But then we got to home that was under construction. We got out of our truck, and my friend said that he needed to do a walk around for an inspection, and he wanted to show me something.

As we walked the house, he showed me something interesting. The home had an elevator shaft that was recently dug into the ground, but the elevator was not yet installed. He picked up a small rock and tossed it down the shaft, and he said, "Listen" After a few seconds, I could barely hear the stone hit the bottom. It was DEEP!

Then he told me, at night was when many large cargo trucks would come and go from that area. All the homes had underground bunkers. And, he believed the elevators connected to an underground tunnel system. This little community also had their helicopter pad. And this was so high up and deep into the amounts above Vail...nobody owns vacation homes up there.

Oh well, that's the best forest story I got, and I've spent many nights in the woods.

Can you find it on a satellite photo?

Were those other houses actual homes with furniture, etc, or were they just shells that contained ventilation shafts, etc?

Re: Wierd things you have seen in the woods.
While hiking in the woods, my friends and I were walking along a nearly dried up creek bed. Nestled in between some boulders, and partially buried in the creek bed, I noticed what appeared to be an old ass wooden canoe. I asked my friends to come over to take a look at it and asked them what they thought it was.

In order to get a better look at it, we tried to pick it up, but it was super heavy and we couldn't budge it. What appeared to look like wood, actually felt like stone instead. I mapped the coordinates and called a friend of mine who was a archeologist.

Long story short? That old ass canoe turned out to be a hand hewn wooden canoe which was partially petrified wood as it was estimated to be thousands of years old. My friend and I contacted a federal historical preservation agency and donated it to them as it was so damned heavy, and in such a remote location, there wasn't any way that we could've gotten it out of there without destroying it.

A lot of religious people I’ve come across don’t believe in ghosts, which is odd seeing as how their idol rose from the dead. They tend to believe in good/evil...they mostly see the paranormal as one or the other. I’d assume this poster believes since he believes in Christ he is shielded from paranormal (evil) entities.

Tell us the religious story. Bigfoot doesn't have red eyes, so likely alien or demonic
 Quoting: Furrry Pete

Actually, there are many stories of Bigfoot with glowing red eyes.

There seems to be two types of Bigfoot:

1) an animal Relic Hominid similar to a bear that leaves tracks, etc
2) a demon Nephilim/Rephaim that can appear and disappear at will, leave no tracks, etc

Ding Ding! You are correct. I have seen an "alien ship" about 500 feet away in broad daylight while cruising home from work. I still don't believe in aliens as "space beings." Extra-dimensional is much more believable with the size and dangers of Space & history of the "paranormal" on this planet.

Lol, I figured as much. Yea the whole alien/ufo thing is interesting I’ve seen some really weird things in the sky. Spend enough time in the wilderness and it’s inevitable that you’ll see something “out of this world”. Most religious people believe they are deceivers...demons. Extra dimensional beings is a interesting concept. Of course they could be governments

Re: Wierd things you have seen in the woods.
I was mountain biking in the forest near Helena Montana. The location had some tough trails and was a little remote. I was the only person at the trailhead that day. I started up a steep trail, and about a 1/2 mile in stopped to take a drink. Out of the corner of my eye, and about 100 yards away I see two or three balls of very bright, diffuse light. These balls were about 3 times as big as a beach ball and were floating in the air. When I looked at them, the lights started moving down the mountain toward me in a motion that was part flowing and part an interactive dance. I was immediately filled with extreme fear, and felt they were definitely coming for me. I slammed my bike around and flew downhill to the parking area. When I got to my car I noticed that the forest was completely silent, there was a complete absence of all sound like I was in a sound chamber. I threw my bike on the rack, and without even tying it down, sprayed gravel as I headed down the forest road. I was a pretty big, strong man at the time, and wasn't afraid of much. But there was something I sensed about those lights that almost scared me witless.

Re: Wierd things you have seen in the woods.
I have a good story about the woods that was told to me by the person it happened to.

In 1995 I was surfing down the West Coast starting in Newport Oregon and eventually in the winter I was all the way south in San Diego. So one day after surfing Ocean Beach I went inland to the town center and parked in an empty lot then hiked around town and when I got back to my van the parking lot was locked so I was bummed out and had to wait till morning to get my van out.

So while I was waiting I went to the Catholic mission and met this guy who told me the story I am about to tell you. This guy who I forgot his name was in Indonesia staying with his uncle who was the US consulate when WW2 broke out.

The Japs invaded their city and they were forced to flee. The guy and his uncle along with his limo driver jumped into the Mercedes and fled in terror up the mountain as the troops stormed the city.

They were being pursued by Jap soldiers in a jeep and they tore up the mountain road that became more primitive by the mile until the road got steep and grassy and the car tires lost traction. So they got out of the car and ran for their lives as darkness set in. The Japanese soldiers were in hot pursuit 50 yards and closing. The driver and his uncle got shot in the back but the boy kept running.

Just before he got caught a flurry of arrows killed the soldiers and then the local tribesman emerged from the jungle and this guy said he was never so scared. He couldn't understand them but they led him into the jungle and guided him to the village.

The chief who had lost a son adopted him. He was 12 years old and soon learned the language and customs and forgot English and his former life. 5 years after WW2 ended the family went looking for him and after a bit the locals knew of a blond boy the tribe had adopted. They found him and it took two weeks of coaxing the boy now man with two wives to leave and return to the United States.

So he returned and ended up at the catholic mission where I met him. He had to learn to read and write and go to school and said he hated it. Tribal life was idyllic and tough but when you live like that you get really tough so it doesn't seem tough.

He got a job (that he hated) and said to me eating grubs was better than being a slave in America. He eventually married and had two sons. He adopted a third son who he loved because the kid liked to fight, and growing up in the tribe they always jostled when they weren't hunting or mating with his wives.

So he taught his adopted son all the tricks he learned while being a wild native and this son became California state wrestling champion 4 years in a row.

Re: Wierd things you have seen in the woods.
I got a special wilderness permit to go into an area in the mountains in CA where they hadn't allowed foot traffic in, in twenty years. There were no trails. It was myself and two other Marines and we did it in exchange for seeing if there was a rare kind of trout in the streams up there. I guess the forest service didn't have anyone who wanted to do it. I'm not sure I was set up with this by a friend. Anyway we hiked for two days with no trails using just a map and compass and on the second day we walked around this huge cliff to find a full on cabin with a lawn and solar power and washer and dryer the whole nine yards all built into the rock face of the cliff. You couldn't see it from above so it had gone unoticed for years. We talked to the guy that lived there and he said we were the first people he had seen hike in, in 14 years. He was a retired helicopter pilot and he had flown all the equipment in by helo. He was squatting on federal land and knew it but didn't seem worried. He said he hikes out every two weeks for supplies by a different route then we came in and he showed it to us. We used that route to get back as he had a trail beaten down so the walking was easier. All in all it was pretty cool. The trout the forest service was looking for were in the creeks so it is still closed to foot travel and we never told the forest service about the old helicopter pilot so I would bet he is still out there.

There's a documented story in PA of a UFO landing and bigfoot type creatures getting out and terrorizing people. It was witnessed and documented. I only know the story because I knew someone who was related and the story was passed down. Analytically, There seems to be a lot of theatrics to demonic hauntings and UFOs that make little sense outside of something like 'zoo theory'. Even your encounter with the eyes. Almost like scaring you was the point. I think there's a larger interconnected eco-system that we can't always perceive.

Yes, "theatrics". That word describes many of these encounters.

For example, the ridiculous medical procedures that the aliens perform, or the single UFO that splits into multiple UFOs that dance around the sky, etc.

What is "zoo theory"?

VERY interesting, I would love to read about that or see some video. I’ll have to research it. Especially since I have a house in the poconos.

Re: Wierd things you have seen in the woods.
Here is another story of something weird in the woods.

I was at a Rainbow Gathering in Missouri and meet an hippie brother named Salmonberry from Eugene, Oregon who tells me he has a free cabin I can stay way back in the central oregon mountains. He made me a detailed map on how to find it.

So later that summer I am back west and decide to drive out to check it out. It was a long way out and off the grid and after many hours of driving dusty dirt roads I found it just like he said.

When I opened the cabin door there was a dead dried up cow. The free range cow had got in and it's hoof went through the floor boards and got stuck. I decided I didn't want to stay there. lol

Would it have been as fun if he was just a common tribesboy, instead of being the son of the chief?

Drove on I90 in Western Massachusetts, then down route 8 into northern Connecticut. I'm telling you right now, the forests of Western Massachusetts and Northern Connecticut ate damned, cursed, and imprinted with centuries of pain, anguish, wrongful death and evil.

I wish someone else could back me up on this, I know I'm not imagining things.

I've driven through Massachusetts several times and each time I feel spooked and disturbed afterwards.

Most of the northeast ha aplenty of tragic history seeing as how we were part of the original 13 colonies. Plenty of ghosts and goblins wherever you choose to venture.

CT is very satanic. As for western, MA, that could be the Native American vibe...

Re: Wierd things you have seen in the woods.
When I was hunting with my father at around age 15-16 iirc in 2009 I saw what I can only describe as a shimmering Jellyfish. Aside from it's long streaming tendrils that trailed behind it as it drifted along at a height that would have been no higher than the pine trees across the cutover I was looking over I remember nothing. I ended up finding the exact area it was on Google maps recently. The cutover has grown up but you can still distinguish the old from the new growth.

I've told people about it but it's so fucking weird I guarantee no one believes me.

Only explanation I have is I had a dream after falling asleep in the tree which is terrifying in itself to me. 15 feet up, no harness, and nothing but a small rail separating me from the open air around.

I don't think it was that and my dad thinks I'm a fucking nut after I told him this this past year.

I should clarify my father wasn't with me at the time he was across the road about which was about 150 yards from my stand and once you crossed he was about 300 yards in the woods.

I have no idea what the fuck it was I saw and nothing really to go on as there's not many experiences in the literature that even remotely reference a similar sighting. I was really interested in UFOs at the time and attempted contact on numerous occasions. Had a few weird Alien themed dreams that I'm really leaning toward being real but that's for another thread.

Re: Wierd things you have seen in the woods.
I am not a cop, but I am a dispatcher actually, and have a lot of experience in the wilderness. As I said, we were hours away from home in a unfamiliar place. Cardinal rule is you never tuck tail and run from a predator, you stand your ground. I had some sharp weapons so I was ready and able to mount a defense. I’ve experienced many strange and paranormal things in my life but this was by far the strangest. I did some research on what it could be and all possible answers are equally unbelievable...mothman, alien, demon, Jersey Devil, Bigfoot...I noticed there seems to be some stories of an association between Bigfoot, red eyes, aliens. As I said there is a religious backstory so I was leaning towards evil entity/demon. FYI I am anti organized religion. I would have brought my gun with me but I didn’t want to risk getting arrested in NY as I am from NJ and there is no firearms reciprocity.
