Usually dads send kids back in the same clothes because we never see the new clothes we bought for them to wear during our "visits" returned (kids visit relatives and have shared custody with parents, even if just weekends). Thats what I do, as I otherwise have my kids show up every weekend in older clothes and sent back in new clothes that never come back. This is just typical and nothing to rage about. Your reading too much into it. Did they spend the whole weekend in the same, unwashed, clothes?

Mosquito bites? Sounds like dad took kids out of the house like dads should do. My kids love fishing and hikes, and mosquito bites are just part of that. Better than TV? Yes. Child abuse? No.

Kids say teeth not brushed for two days? Well, not good and not child abuse. Say something and he will change his ways out of shame. Not good but not the end of the world eighter. Be a problem solver, not a drama starter.

Sounds like the 9 year old's hair tangles easily. Get her some detangler. Her dad will spray it on if she asks him. This takes like two seconds. Otherwise, she should be good on her own. Teach her to help the littler girl to wash her face and hands, brush her teeth, and comb her hair. Skipping one bath isn't so serious.

What is the point of having children if you want nothing to do with them. I am a 28 year old man with a wife and child and I could never imagine treating my daughter that way. My father wasnt around my whole life and I think that is better than being treated like garbage. You remember things and when they get older they will wonder why he did'nt want to do anything with them other than play video games or why he did'nt provide food, or why he did nothing but be a dead beat. You're making this lady feel like she is doing something wrong when all she is doing is caring for her children. It sounds like he is an unfit father and should be supervised, who knows what else could be going on.

i gotta call bullshit on some of the comments here. Thinking back to my couple separations in which i had the kid and kids(s).

The reason, as i learned from my own experience, is because we guys JUST DONT KNOW. We never did it, never worried about it. We are not nurturers.

in my case i had help from my mother, to show me how to brush my kids hair, set times for brushing teethe, changing clothes. Etc. etc. And my wifes mother showed and helped me too.

After a while i LEARNED how to be a nurturer.

And surprise, surprise. I became the anal parent. I was fanatic with "brushy teethey time" and had a system for everything, kids structured, all food groups each meal..
Then i sent the kids back to their mother, and i was freaking out ON HER, for not giving them a vegetable or not keeping the schedule.
I had the kids putting whatever they took out back, chores down. The mother was more so the slacker is how it panned out and i was giving HER a hard time.

But ill admit, i never quite got the braiding my daughters hair thing down but i brushed the hell out of it and her clothes were spotless. All her clothes cleaned when returned no dirty laundry shipped back and she even had a organizer for her things to bring with her.

After reading all kinds of STUPID stuff...this one finally is the STUPIDEST you take the cake Pink Taco...At least he wants to spend time with them and that's what is important to keep in mind..your daughters will cherish any and all memories made with their Father...I hope for their sake you aren't poisoning their minds with your vitriolic inane ranting about their Father...I'm not saying he's perfect, but you owe them the opportunity to love their Father without feeling they are choosing him over you...and you know that's what this really all about...I'm guessing you were a middle child and always felt your parents didn't care as much for you as they did your siblings...you should seek professional counseling for yourself...there's some good ones out there...think good things and be thankful he isn't physically, verbal abusive...You sound like you're a good mom and want what's best for your kids...and a good relationship with their Father is especially important for girls...it will color all their future relationships...so as long as he isn't dangerous or puts them in truly dangerous situations and doesn't commit mental, physical, verbal or any other kind of abuse...you should acknowledge people have different styles and you obviously differ between his and yours...maybe try asking in kind motherly way if he would make sure they bathe more than once and try and use some bug spray...Lighten up Francis...
