i gotta call bullshit on some of the comments here. Thinking back to my couple separations in which i had the kid and kids(s).

I GOT NEWS FOR SOME OF YOU.

The reason, as i learned from my own experience, is because we guys JUST DONT KNOW. We never did it, never worried about it. We are not nurturers.

in my case i had help from my mother, to show me how to brush my kids hair, set times for brushing teethe, changing clothes. Etc. etc. And my wifes mother showed and helped me too.

After a while i LEARNED how to be a nurturer.

And surprise, surprise. I became the anal parent. I was fanatic with "brushy teethey time" and had a system for everything, kids structured, all food groups each meal..
Then i sent the kids back to their mother, and i was freaking out ON HER, for not giving them a vegetable or not keeping the schedule.
I had the kids putting whatever they took out back, chores down. The mother was more so the slacker is how it panned out and i was giving HER a hard time.

But ill admit, i never quite got the braiding my daughters hair thing down but i brushed the hell out of it and her clothes were spotless. All her clothes cleaned when returned no dirty laundry shipped back and she even had a organizer for her things to bring with her.
