OP-You are right to be a bit concerned if they are not being taught better hygiene, oare lacking in "normal" parental supervision/direction. Have you tried speaking to the ex about these issues calmly, not being accusatory or hostile? At least try and communicate with him reasonably, rationally and see what happens. Maybe he is doing this purely to get under your skin, maybe its actual neglect or you might be blowing things things out of proportion. Only you really know the answer. . Just do whats right by the kids whatever that may be.
