The person who had most sins on him(though none of his own, for he had no sin) when he died was Jesus Christ. He took all the sins of mankind onto himself. And he paid the penalty for those sins, the penalty was death, and not eternal punishment.
To say that the punishment for sin is eternal torture, is similar to denying that Christ paid enough. Christ paid enough for all sin by his death.
