Here is some better days when they had a singer/writer and a real bassist.

Class of 84 here. VH was my favorite back in the day. The last 2 times I went to see them I wish I hadnt. Ruined my excellent memories of them. Dave is a total duche, I met him backstage at Pine Knob when he had his "Solo" career. Eddie's arthritis is so bad he cant play for shit anymore, turns his back to the crowd on solos so the cameras cant zoom in on his mistakes as every guitar player knows his riffs. I still cant believe I watched Eddie totally butcher Cathedral. Alex's drum solo is awsome, the only thing worth seeing. Save your money and your memories.

Never understood why Alex never got more credit as a drummer, to hell with being the group's bus boy.

Dave, but no Michael Anthony who seems to be getting looked over, but is every bit as important as the rest nonetheless...

-not to mention they tried this same thing a couple years ago...with eddies stupid kid in place of Michael, that is...not really seeing why this is being played out like they haven't been together since '84, that is just not correct. hasn't even been more than a few years at most now..oh well
(yeah, I think Eddie is a total dick for putting his kid in the band, cut it out Eddie!!!!)

I hear ya. He always has been one of the most under-rated in drummers in modern rock. I think it may have something to do with the focus being so much on his brother.

well, a good portion actually is...Michael Anthony, who is responsible for all the backing vocals on all the van halen songs through the decades, plus his bass work of course...


-but I imagine he is also including Sammy which is fine, but hes no Dave...for there is only one..

-and eddie is still a dick for throwing his stupid kid in the band. -I for one will not go see them because of that sole fact...still think Dave is best frontman ever to grace a stage though...
