how does the order of malta play into all of this

Im proud to say that my family has contributed to your ranks. Both the Knights of Malta and the Knights of Columbus are military branches of the Vatican. They are very inclusive and closed to the public, meaning membership is only by invitation. Those who are initiated into the higher(elite) echelons of these orders must be Roman Catholics and have served in the military. They participate in secret ceremonies and feudal ritual dress, and embrace a strong class/caste mentality as part of their initiation into Rosicrucian dogma.

Both of these orders answer to the Jesuit General, the Black Pope. Most people don't know but even the 'White Pope', the visible head of the Catholic Church answers to the Jesuit general, for the Jesuits are the real power in the Vatican. While the Jesuits have their hands in virtually all aspects of things religious, political, and economical, being the most secretive and effective primarily in the area of religious infiltration, the Orders of Malta and Columbus are assigned roles primarily in the political and banking(economical) world.

Their primary task is the pushing and setting up of a politico-economical world order as planned by the RCC, with the Pope of Rome and Jesuit General at the head. They are very loyal to the medieval idea of feudalism, where the few elite ones serve as kings and nobles, while the rest of the common people have every aspect of their lives under complete control as serfs to the system.
