Stevia may cause infertility. Google stevia infertility for more info.

Xylitol is the best and totally natural. It also prevents tooth decay. Erythritol is also great but it has a minty flavor so not good in everything but it's quite good for you.

For "real" sugar the best is palm sugar.

Some people can't use xylitol without it acting as sugar. Everytime I've cut out sugar but would use xylitol it would stall me.

I can use splenda with no problems (by the teaspoon, I don't use it for cheesecake when I'm trying to lose weight, but I did in the past and it's great for baking). Splenda is supposed to be the closest thing to sugar because it is sugar with the bad taken out. It's sweet, too.

Stevia can be used as natural sweetener
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 7919827

Like I said above, stevia causes infertility. Stick with xylitol or erythritol.

Splenda is full of chlorine. It's not good for you at all. Very toxic.

Utter BS. Table salt has "chlorine" in it. Just because something has chlorine atoms in it doesn't make it bad for you.

Aspartame is not carcinogenic. There is zero evidence of that. It has been used widely, over a long period of time and extensively studied with no evidence that it causes cancer.

Splenda isn't related to aspartame too.

I did state immediately after that I was wrong about the aspartame connection, it is chlorinated sucralose.

You believe what you like, all the information I have rounded up over the years suggests to myself that it is not safe and I avoid it like the plague. It also tastes nasty with a weird chemical bitterness at the back of your tongue, I can always tell if a product has this substance because of that nasty flavour, and they do not all list it either.
