There are scientist looking at virusses and they way they COULD develop in nature. They wanna be prepared for the case it does. Now recently some scientist managed to have the bird flu mutate inside their laboratory. And now they know it is possible this could happen in nature too, and hopefully they can take steps to be prepared for it. The downside is that now it is known how to make this new strain, at least, if they publish their results. The new strain wasn't made with the purpose to make a weapon. |
