Actually, it is the waste of 3 hours, which if spent with friends and family, isn't a waste at all.
However, for most it becomes much more than that. You watch 3 hours of sportscenter every day, read sports articles for hours every day, post on sports message boards hours every day, and generally let sports rule your life. Its not a waste of time. It is a mental illness.
