I agree with the above poster. I hardly wash my hair anymore. No-poo and occasional co-poo. Very little product. Take Country Life Maxi-Hair supplements daily. Minimal trimming. My hair is the longest it's been in my life.

And a good hair bun, I'm on like day 5 of my hair bum, I think I comb to much sometimes though, the tricky part is not breaking the front hairs off.

You're looking at 2-3 1/2 inches of growth from now until your target date. Try clip in extentions. I use them sometimes. They're easy and not expensive.

Try this:

Put 2 parts worcestershire sauce, 1 part honey and 3 parts tabasco in a bowl. Mix it thoroughly. Put your index finger in the bowl then ram your finger up your ass.

Yeah rarely wash it but make sure it's clean. I have this organic deep conditioner that works miracles. As a little girl I always thought pulling my hair would make it longer haha.
John works 40 hours a week at a factory job. His rate of pay is $12.00 per hour. This week he worked an additional 3.5 hours of overtime for which he is paid $18.00 per hour. If he stops at the bar on the way home and drinks up 40% of his paycheck, how long until his wife piles all his shit up on the sidewalk?

Wearing a hat to bed, I'm on my third grow out and once, long ago, I found a real old fashion night cap. A really long thin skihat type hat made to sleep in. I think I found it in Denmark. I bought 2 black ones.

I've tried those -- several different kinds -- and they never stay on :( I use satin pillowcases (except in winter) for hair protection and only use filtered water on my hair.

I've have really noticed a difference since I started taking the Maxi-Hair last year.

Re: Tips For Growing Out Hair
Google/search "Mega Tek". Its a horse shampoo of sorts that cancer patients who have been through cancer, use to re grow hair lost from chemo. Ppl with out cancer use it as well.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 968483

Same with Modifilan (brown seaweed). You can order it online, not too expensive. [link to www.modifilan.com]

If you do a Google search you will find several companies selling it. One of the testimonials on the site is of a woman who had 2 rounds of chemo and watched all her hair fall out in clumps. She started taking the Modifilan two weeks prior to her 3rd chemo treatment and her hair had already started growing back. And it continued to grow even after she had her 3rd chemo treatment. The Modifilan prevented her new hair growth from falling out! Of course I can't verify that this is 100% truth, but from what I know about iodine, sounds likely to me!

The Russians even used Modifilan to combat radiation sickness after Chernobyl! You can read about it at the link above.

Another thing, rubbing decolorized iodine into your scalp will help stop hair loss and will stimulate hair growth. That one I can testify to! Taking iodine supplements helps too. That's why the Modifilan probably really does work. This stuff sounds amazing - I haven't tried it yet, but will be ordering some soon.

On an interesting side note: For any of you who have taken interest in the wonders of iodine for treating thyroid disorders. Maybe this is old news to some of you, but I just learned about it yesterday. Thyroid hormone (thyroxine) is composed of 2 elements: iodine and tyrosine. I find this fascinating because it's a fact that your thyroid cannot produce thyroid hormone (thyroxine) if you do not have sufficient iodine, however, I have never heard this said about tyrosine! But it only makes sense.

Here is the most interesting part!

What food is highest in iodine? Seaweed!
What food is highest in tyrosine? Seaweed!

Go figure! It only makes sense that God would make a food containing large amounts of iodine to contain equally large amounts of tyrosine!

This means seaweed is the ultimate, God-given food for healthy thyroid function! I really can't wait to try it as I have hypothyroidism and the medication makes me have chest pains, so I quit taking it.

Word of caution to those who have Hashimotos: Iodine can make Hashimotos symptoms worse and can cause a severe reaction. Although, Dr. David Brownstein and his colleagues have done research and found strong evidence that this is not caused by iodine allergy, but by selenium deficiency. My thought is, I wonder if it also has something to do witha tyrosine deficiency OR tyrosine excess? Hmmmm......

almonda walnuts and assorted vegies all have this biotin.

[link to www.fitday.com]

Wash hair more often to keep the follicles clean. You may also consider not using conditioner since this gunks up the follicles. As long as you use a natural shampoo this should not be an issue.

If you take the Maxi-Hair, you don't need biotin - it's in there. Lot's of interesting info on this thread but be careful of making too many changes at once!

P.S. I also use coconut oil (very sparingly) when I massage my scalp and on hair ends. Coconut oil is magical stuff hf

I use coconut oil on my hair also, and yes it is magical! I am in the healing stage from some fractured bones in my foot, and it's been rough trying to walk from one room to another without sharp pain. Last might I was reading about cocounut oil benefits and read it helps with pain and swelling of muscles. Yep, I pulled it out and massaged it in, and as I began to walk away I swear I could feel a difference, even my step was different. So, I am going to be using it on my foot to heal the muscles, too!

Hi, I posted this t your other thread. Since your vegan, I'm not sure what options you would have but I know when I have increased protein and lower carbed, it really helps my hair to grow. Are you getting adequate protein and fat in your diet? I've used biotin and take prenatal vitamins even though I'm not pregnant, but honestly I think it is the added protein (and possibly some of the fat) that helps.

Gotta agree with coconut oil, put it on your face too! Only thing, for ME, because my hair is so fine, I can only put it on my tips. Actually, I sometimes use olive oil in my hair, I put it in and let it sit a few minutes BEFORE washing it out, but have sparingly used coconut oil in the past after a shower too.

Re: Tips For Growing Out Hair
Yes, washing it only every so often helps keep it healthy, but it is also the way you wash it...

Do not "scrub" your hair... wash at the roots, on the scalp...lets the suds do the rest on the actual hair...

This has worked for me, as I am on the 6th grow out for my next cut to "Locks of Love" for kids with cancer.
