Your poor dog. If nothing else, you owe it to your dog not to smoke at home. You have a choice whether or not to destroy your lungs but your dog doesn't. I personally think the no-smoking-in-the-house policy is a blessing in disguise for both you and your dog.

People should be able to do what they damn well please in their own home as long as it's not harming another.

I know the damage ciggarette smoking can do. I also use Natives, which diminishes the crap in the others. I also use an e cig to minimize as much as I can....


I am a 36 yr old disabled woman. I have limited use of my arms and legs because of a birth defect. I live on my own, with my dog, Cyrus, Service Dog Extraordinaire....I do not mind the limitations I was born with, I embrace them. As I see it- I have two choices. 1. Be angry (useless & wasteful of my energy & abilities) or 2. Understand that I am given a unique perspective. My intellect affords me the ability, through art to express my sorrows, my joys, struggles & achievements. I'm an accomplished artist who happens to paint with her mouth.

I do live on "The System", Ssi Medicaid and medicaire to survive... I understand, to many of you, that am a mere parasite. Considering the abuses that do occur within the system, I can see why many feel that way. The system is broken (as most know) but not by those that need it most. And WE are in fact in the MAJORITY, not the loud, over focused MINORITY portrayed by the msn to scare the he** out of the now struggling poor & middle class.


Did you know that under HUD law you can not work from home??

Did you know that if you earn more than (in Nj) you cannot earn more than $750 a month without losing EVERYTHING? If I attempt to earn more, I literally lose the right (through home health aid assistance) the right to to PEE & EAT???

I'm not at all saying I'm 'entitled' to those things. I am saying I AM ENTITLED by the Constitution to EARN whatever living I can.

I'm not afraid of work. I am not afraid to LIVE.

So no I do not have a problem with the "no smoking" when it comes to HUD housing.

I work rent and pay taxes.

When you rent then smoke in the apt it is the tax payer that has to have the apt deep cleaned and repainted not you.

I do not have a problem with my tax money going to assist you due to your limited mobility.

they don't allow smoking in most apartments in my area. or any areas around it. this is not government housing.

most smokers i know burn incense all the time and smoke in their apts. anyway.

and if they get a complaint they just say 'i don't smoke'. i burn incense when i do rituals though. maybe that is what you are smelling.

I COMPLETELY understand your position. I, once a week, clean the walls of my bathroom, removing the smell & nicotine from my walls....AND pay for the repainting. Perhaps you missed my point, of my not being allowed within my abilities to work? I am happy to earn whatever I can. It is the system that prohibits independence, not I.

This is how our government enforces poverty. They hold your housing, food, and healthcare over your head. If you make a penny more than they allow, then you lose everything.

If you have a disability, then you have almost no hope of ever leaving the system. They make sure of that.
