Denver TV anchor bitten on air by just rescued dog (video)
[link to www.news.com.au]

A US television anchor has been taken to hospital after being bitten on air by a 38-kilogram dog that had made headlines after being rescued from an icy reservoir.
Anchor Kyle Dyer of KUSA-TV was leaning close to Max, a three-year-old Argentinian mastiff, when he suddenly opened his mouth and bit her.

What a stupid woman, rescue dogs are often traumatised and not all dogs like being petted. My dogs hate being touched by strangers, they're whippets.

I have to tell kiddies my dogs don't like being patted and that it's a good idea to ask the owner if you can pat their dog.

It was the news anchors fault. The owner was holding the dog really tightly, like he knew the dog might snap. She should have picked up on that clue and should never have gotten her face that close to the dog's face. Stupid.

Uh, the dog is NOT a pit bull for one thing. For another, pit bulls can be wonderful dogs when bred and raised right.
Politicians and diapers have one thing in common. They should both be changed regularly and for the same reason.

I have seen this happen before and there are vids on it. Last I remember it was a police dog (german sheppard) who did not like having it's throat stroked. Best course of action with a big dog (that you don't know well) is to just allow it to have it's personal space.

That was an 80 lb dog... damn!

The same breed that tore that soccer coach woman apart outside her apartment door by some freaky neighbors dogs in San Francisco years ago.

Well... there are two faults here:

1. The anchor woman for "kissing" a dog that is not hers! (DUH)
2. The owners for not warning the woman to stay away from the dogs face. (If that had been my dog and a stranger was near my doggies face.. I would have said "Dudette... you may wanna back away slowly.) LOL

I would like to interject here that dogs DO sense things from humans... kind of interesting to me, eh?

Sad too, because it might have been a totally different outcome if she'd knelt down and just dangled her hand for the dog to sniff. Have yet to see a dog that liked having a stranger tower over them.

The owner should have held his arm out to stop her from leaning over him.

To those saying he should be put down right away, it's probably best to not do that. The dog doesn't have his rabies shot.

Anyone who thinks they know how a dog is going to act in any given circumstance, is a moran!

Dogs are controlled by their fear, hunger and other animal instincts. They are anything but predictable.
