Fun picture to play with in Photoshop EXPERTS NEEDED
Or your favorite. Doesn't matter. Play with gamma, contrast etc...
I'm calling on the experts. I'm not going to say what I think it is. I'm wanting you to tell me when you find it.
Tell me what you see when you do please.

Oh you gotta be kidding!?
lmao

I can kind of understand why they might move the moon to make a better composition, but what about the light behind? What made them blot that out (it isn't in the background, it's on the planet)

Any explanation?

Bump it up, lets see if we can figure this out? Notice the red and green "lights" at top and bottom?

More experts are needed to figure this one out. Stock NASA photo from APOD.

I used photoshop and did not see anything interesting there is a binary star down on the bottom left but other than that the picture is just too low quality to get any real detail that can't be contributed to the low quality of the photo.

I know what it its! to get a high res picture they have to take multiple shots but this created a blurred effect on the faster moving moon so they had to photo shop the double images out so the image looks like it should if you looked at it through a telescope.

just my thought on the matter.

This was after I increased the brightness (+150) and the reduced the contrast (-50). I also modified the levels (about 40)

What you can see is that this image was tampered with by the individuals managing this photo. There is clearly an object that was painted over with the color black. The object that was rubbed out was green and red in color or at least its hue was.

it is obvious they did a bad job trying to cover something up.
there is a green and a red light behind whatever they are trying to hide.

the fact that it was easy to find and sloppy looking says to us they were just fixing a photography error I stand by what I said I think they just photoshoped double images out.

Yea.. you don't even have to photoshop it to see where something was blacked over and the red/green poking out of the top of whatever they blotted out.

That's weird...

You are indeed correct. From the mentioned websites comment section

photoshopped
Sloppy brushwork in the shadow region of Dione.

Mr
if you look close at the shadows to the right you can see a hand holding Dione

Photoshopping

Alex, you're correct that Photoshop was involved, though not perhaps for the reason you think. Cassini takes color pictures by snapping three sequential photos through red, green, and blue filters. In the time that separated the three frames, Dione moved, so if I did a simple color composite I would be able to make Titan look right, but not Dione; or Dione look right, but not Titan. So I aligned Dione, cut it out, and then aligned Titan, and then had to account for the missing bits of shadow where the bits of Dione had been in two of the three channels. I explain this process in much more detail in this post: [link to planetary.org]

I'm in school right now to get a degree in new media, but have been using software like PhotoShop and flash for years now and this is soooo obviously altered it is ridiculous.

All you have to do is choose to see. They put a marquee over the moon body and edited out the light that would show behind it. I don't think it had any significance if it weren't done so sloppily.

It was literally a paint brush guys, you can see the round strokes...
All is divine in your minds eye.
