Dear Dr. Kareem or Sheikha…

To all those who depend on the Western media; before you unleash prejudice against the Third World Nations, try to get your facts straight.

Third World countries don´t meddle in other countries’ businesses, they don´t invade sovereign nations, murder their innocent citizens in order to steal their wealth.

While on the other hand, nothing is handed freely to the Third World countries, just do a search on international debts.

Debts crippled many developing countries, due to loans taken out by prior rulers and dictators many of which various western nations put into power to suit their interests.

Millions face poorer and poorer living standards as precious resources are diverted to debt repayment.

Dear Maria,

The United States has long meddled in other nations´ internal affairs, especially in the Middle East and the Arab world, replacing rivals and waging illegal wars with the sole aim of laying hands on those countries´ oil wealth and securing a steady supply of oil.

The examples are numerous: Mohammed Reza Pahlavi, the shah of Iran from 1941 to 1979 who was handpicked by the United States to serve its wide interests in the Middle East, knowing Iran’s strategic influence in the region.

And in 1990, Washington used the Iraqi invasion to Kuwait to assert its hegemony in the post-Soviet world and ensure its control over the Persian Gulf. The U.S. decided to punish Saddam for launching a war (inspired by its government) by dropping 88,000 tons of bombs on Iraq, systematically targeting and largely destroying the country’s electrical and water systems. And of course we cannot forget pressuring the UN to impose sanctions that starved the majority of the Iraqi people and opened the gate for corruption and illegal oil deals we later heard about.

Then came Iraq war, which claimed the lives of thousands of innocent civilians, devastated the country and grabbed its oil wealth.

Now the attention is directed to Syria, but most probably, the U.S. is not interested in Syria’s natural resources as much as it fears its power and influence which pose a threat to the American interests in the Middle East.

Washington is trying to sweep aside any obstacles that may stand in the way of implementing its vicious agenda in the region.
