Tip for dry, volumeless, fine hair
My hairs a nightmare, well it used to be really good but as I´ve grown older its become dry, volumeless and flat. Now I admit I am gradually loosing hair but the type of hair I have exaserbates this look, unless I get it in really good condition, It looks much worse than it is. I think this is because I also have fine hair, where an underlying layer seems to vanish unless its in good condition (its kind of hard to explain). Wax´es work best with my hair because they seem to moisturise and gather up and spread my hair, however they never tend to hold. Gels are usually bad because they just clump together the hair and make it go hard.
However if you use a conditioner as a styling product, you´ll find that it does actually hold really well, without leaving a hard residue, gives volume, moisturises the hair and can be easily brushed out. My hair looks amazing every time I use it. Its a godsend.

Re: Tip for dry, volumeless, fine hair
Here is a better tip for healthy hair.

Take a can of sardines. Open the can and eat the little sardines. After you are finished, pour the liquid that remains in the can all over your hair. Gently scrub it in and let dry.
The sardine juice protects your hair from the damaging effects of the wind and the sun. The only drawback is that dogs will try and lick your scalp.

Re: Tip for dry, volumeless, fine hair
My spaghetti straight, thin hair is also dry and the only thing that works for me is a ´home-made remedy" Once a month in summer and every 3 weeks in winter.

1 tablespoon of sweet almond oil
1 tablespoon of risine (sp?) oil
1 tablespoon of olive oil

Mix the oils and warm them (put a pot with water to boil and the oil container inside of it).

Rub the oils as hot as you can stand it, in your scalp and your hair. Wrapp your hair in a hot towel (put the towel in hot water and rinse it) and leave it for 20-30 minutes.

The best way to rinse your hair without spending a long time getting rid of the oil, is to put the shampoo before you wet your hair. wash and rinse your hair twice.

These oils really help your hair. It will be shinny and with much more body. You can find the oils in any grocery store.

I have thinning hair, too, but with the use of those combs with uneven teeth, the curl stays in longer and looks fuller.

My worry is the loss of even more hair! It would be nice to know the cause of it. I´m suspecting a decrease in hormones.

Wash your hair with "Kiss My Face" Pure Olive Oil Soap-costs $3.00 per 8 ounce bar at any health food store. It leaves the hair soft, full and clean.

Try it just once, you´ll never use shampoo again.

1677,

People food with a high salt content is very bad for our pets urinary tracts, and even more dangerous for our older pets.

Sorry....now back to hair talk.

Fine hair is why I don't like natural blondes as they all tend to have very fine hair.

Lugols iodine in your coffee with selenium, zinc, Vitamin B-12 (without Vitamin C) and magnesium.

Additionally take Castor Oil and use that on your hair and scalp before bed. You will want to put some plastic wrap or something over that stuff overnight and wash out in the morning. Castor oil is pretty amazing what it does for hair.

The lugols and the vitamins are overall great for your body and hair.

You must be a natural blonde. Natural blondes always seem to really fine hair. There is absolutely nothing good and everything bad about fine hair. Fine hair breaks and damages easy and has trouble growing and can't grow long. That's why I've always liked brunettes. Brunettes have beautiful thick hair that doesn't break and damage easy and has no trouble growing and can grow long.

Ill tell you my secrets. I never use products to hold my hair in place like hair spray etc. I never dye my hair etc.

I use head and shoulders only.

And I use this stuff which is some kind of miracle shampoo for fine thin hair.

That blue bottle. So head and shoulders first, then that argan stuff.. Never blow dry your hair. Dry it as best you can with a towel then air dry it.

You will notice once it dries after using that argan stuff, it will be thick and lush..

I read a Martha Stewart article, she's over 90 yrs old, and swears her thick hair is from the green smoothie she has made and used for years.

She makes her green juice with celery, cucumber, spinach, fruit (pineapple with the skin she says), parsley, mint, inch of ginger and some citrus.

She makes a batch that lasts 3 days in the fridge, taking 6 oz each day.

I have thinning fine hair (brunette) and am trying EVERYTHING.

Incl. Lugol's.

They also say Coconut oil is the best, stop any other oil and used coconut oil in yur food and in your hair. Thai and Indian women use cocnut oil in their hair, have very thick hair.

Wash your hair with soap. Any good quality soap. Kirks Castile is fine. Olive oil soap or pine tar soap. Triple milled soap. Liquid or bar soap.

Baking soda in the lather also adds volume at cost of shine. Apple cider vinegar in cool rinse adds shine at cost of volume.
