Tomboys
Any tomboys out there? I was a total gender nonconformist growing up and even as an adult have been drawn to "masculine" endeavors (the sciences as a field of study; various sports and adventure).

Don't get me wrong, I love being female and enjoy being a woman, but I just love getting down and dirty, whether it's breaking a horse, 4-wheeling or exploring a cave.

If and when the SHTF, it's the tomboys and the country boys who will make it through in the largest numbers hf

Yup.
Former active duty Marine and guitar prodigy. Not the girly girl guitar player either, I hang with the big boys and belt out old school Metallica, Megadeth, Pantera, Ministry and more. I piss a lot of them off with the talent, but they end up coming around.
Don't know much about cars, but I used to go four-wheeling a lot.
I am heterosexual and have two kids and a wonderful fiance. I am a natural born leader.
I am going to school for Interior Design as I am also an artist, left handed and all.
I am extremely competitive when it comes to going up against a man.

Yeah, I didn't even play with dolls growing up. I use to be able to do some work on my car. Not so much the new ones. I almost never dress up.

I like to fish, camp, and that sort of thing.

Welcome - thanks for visiting! I considered the military, but my mom talked me out of it. I was mostly through my application and scheduled for the physical portion into the NYPD (my mother worked there as a POA), but went back to college instead. I've always enjoyed competition with men and most of my friends have been guys.

Awesome! I've always wanted to get into welding as an art form and really should. My husband has all the equipment and gear. And we certainly have the junk around the farm, lol.

I don't even like shopping. Except for food. I like farmers markets. I like cooking. I like doing whatever I can myself, or with the help of someone else. Home repairs, gardening, landscaping, whatever.

I miss having someone to do that stuff with.

Your cool gif reminded me of my penchant for "masculine" pets. I had an aligator, lizards, frogs and snakes as a kid (along with the obligatory dog and cat). I kept lizards until last year when I lost my fabulous day gecko (I think because hubby accidentally gave him tap water - I always gave him Berkey).

I was describing my childhood to someone once and they called me the original rugrat. Always loved to go exploring in the woods and just "get" into things in general. I can wear high heels with the best of them but I'm also a survivor if I have to be.

I love dressing up and have some awesome high heels - now, lol ... but as a kid, wearing a dress was always a pain :)

I concur, but I may be biased :)

Funny, my older sister was a "girly girl". Our mom, however, had been a stone tomboy.

I have short hair, never wear makeup and live in jeans and t shirts. I hate dressing up, shopping and jewelry. I think it's stupid that we women shave our legs and wear bras, even though I do both.

However, no, I don't consider myself to be a tomboy.

Yes! always been a tomboy, always had better male friends than girls, i just can't justify dressing up everyday and talking about the latest rubbish like talk shows, fashions, soaps etc!

Love working on cars, it is my one of my fave things to do, and having a beer with a few male mates! Though the ladies seem to have a hatred towards those of us who can have a conversation with blokes.

Don't get me wrong I love a good dress up on a girls night out but i'm lucky as my female friends are very similar to me, thats the luck of country living i guess!

I very much wanted to be a guy when I was younger. It was an issue. I would not answer to my name and would only answer to "Joey" between the ages of two and four, lol.

I'm not sure if life would have been easier, being a guy. Being female has it's advantages as well.

I guess I answered that one already, lol.

Btw, do you have the masculine handset (finger length)? Guys mostly have ring fingers significantly longer than their index fingers. It's the opposite for the gals. Gender nonconformists cross over in this trait. I expect this holds for tomboys.
