Quoting: Happy2BAnAussieWoman Love working on cars, it is my one of my fave things to do, and having a beer with a few male mates! Though the ladies seem to have a hatred towards those of us who can have a conversation with blokes. Don't get me wrong I love a good dress up on a girls night out but i'm lucky as my female friends are very similar to me, thats the luck of country living i guess! I can totally identify I always wanted to live in the country (grew up in the concrete jungle) and got my wish about 9 years ago. I just love it out here - really in my element :) For nothing is secret that will not be revealed… |

No, I don't really have any masculine physical characteristics, it's all "in my head." The finger length is more of a marker than a physical characteristic. It's quite interesting. A lot of people have this marker and may not even realize it. [link to en.wikipedia.org] For nothing is secret that will not be revealed… |

Every psychological profile test I've taken puts me in a category that's very rare for females, including this one. I used to think that maybe it was just happenstance that I found myself surrounded by females who seemed so different than myself, now I'm beginning to understand that no.. it's me who's different. Female INTPs Gender issues are especially pointed for the INTP female. While all of the internal conceptualizing, however misunderstood, may be tolerated in a male, society is less likely to tolerate the same characteristic in a female. The absentminded professor is another image more conventionally male than female. This creates at least three special problems for the INTP female: First, women historically have not been looked upon as the architects of much beyond their own homes and families. The constant desire to make life conform to a theoretical model, while true to the INTP preference, flies in the face of traditional female roles. Second, conceptual originality is similarly not a traditional female trait. Some INTPs, asked the time of day, would be tempted to expound on the philosophical meaning of time; this eccentricity in a man may be looked upon as the result of overintelligence, in a woman it may result in her being labeled "dizzy" or even "dumb." Finally, the Thinking preference of INTPs directly counters most females' scripting to be subjective, soft, and caring. Even worse, when an INTP female's feeling side does surface, it often does so with intensity, an outpouring that can be frightening to both herself and others. Huh, I never noticed before, but I do. I was one that'd play dolls and what not with the other girls, but I was just as comfortable playing ball or Ninja Turtles with the boys growing up. I did tend to have more guy friends on the whole though. Karate, archery, hunting, fishing, keeping up with scientific research, studying kiempo, and taking stuff apart to see how it works on the one hand. Music, literature, creating recipes and homemade cosmetics, fiber arts, wildcrafting, and herb lore on the other. |

User ID: 11363138 Canada 02/24/2012 10:26 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I was labelled a Tomboy by other people when growing up because I liked climbing trees, getting dirty, being athletic, would not let any boy bully me by standing up to them and kicking them in the wazoo if I had to, and I would rather learn to build a birdhouse than learn to crochet. I now would enjoy both equally. In my early 20's I enjoyed working on my car, learning about engine parts, and doing basic body work. During lunchtime at work I would go out into the parking lot open the car hood and set a basic mechanics book on the side. Believe it or not this is when a lot of men would stop and ask if I needed help, my reply "Not at all, thank you". Some men would just stand there dumbfounded. I still would love to redo an old classic sports car in hot pink, I think with a hippy flower thown in for good measure. This comes close. Last Edited by RedlicoriceRedux on 02/24/2012 10:32 AM |

User ID: 1505901 United States 03/16/2012 03:06 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I was very feminine as a little girl (I still am), but I have acquired some masculine interests as well. For one, I'm a musician. Growing up I played classical piano like my mother. While I loved that, I took on guitar, drums, keyboard, and rock music in general as a teenager. I'm a Christian, so I started playing wtih the guys on the worship team at church. They quickly realized I was not your average girl "pretending" she could rock out. I was a force to be reckoned with. They all either became madly jealous of me, or they decided it was sexy and had a crush on me. LOL. This progressed into youth ralleys/local concerts, etc. I wound up meeting my husband who is a worship leader through my musical circle. Now we lead together. I also have a bachelor's in psychology, and will probably teach college once my daughter is old enough to be in school. I guess that's somehwat masculine. "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." - Matthew 22: 37-39 "What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul?
