I'd like to go quietly in my sleep, like grandpa did. Not screaming in terror like the people in the back seat of the car he was driving. |

User ID: 5382682 Canada 03/01/2012 12:10 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Our winter here in Southern Manitoba, in Canada, has been very mild this year. It has been more like a perpetual spring with just a couple of days that were colder than -20C but for the most part it's been -5C to plus 1 or 2C with night time lows of maybe -10 .. we haven't needed to plug our vehicle batterie warmer in this year at all! that for us is a heavenly winter. Especially when it's not unusual to be getting weeks of -30 & -40 weather with windchills that can take us to the -50 mark. I feel bad that other areas are suffering with horrible weather, while we are really enjoying the respite we've been given. In the end, I have to agree with previous posters saying this winter has been very different from the norm. It really has been very different for us, in a good way. We've been able to enjoy our days outside without dressing in so many thick layers, to the point that we look like the abominal snow man! A ski jacket has done the trick this year! Wow! |

Occasionally global warming nuts see photos of them which they take as proof of their theology just like Christians who see Jesus in toast. Amusingly, eco-zealots will cry about the same ice shelf break off because more often than not they'll break and then refreeze back together. |
Daveinspruce User ID: 1551133 Canada 03/01/2012 12:46 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Like my fellow Canadian has stated, here to in Alberta is has been way to warm we have had next to no snow up until last week where we got 25cm over a day or so. But before that I have NEVER seen a winter where I'm in my shorts on Chrismas eve, and no snow on the ground! Everyone keeps saying what a weird winter but it seems nobody is asking WHY? |

A "huge fireball" was reported travelling from northern Scotland to southern England at about 21:40 GMT, amid fears a plane had crashed. Another witness said: "I looked up and saw these two huge tails of light coming off it and I thought it was a plane on fire going down into Edinburgh. ...It was massive, there was the red at the back of it, then these two huge white tails and then these blue bits at the very end."
