A bomb squad was called to the scene and decided to bring in a specialized robot to deal with it. and [link to www.oregonlive.com] The incident began about 10:15 a.m. when a man who works in the area near Southeast Belmont and 26th Avenue called police to say he had noticed a package with wires attached in the passenger seat of the VW, which was parked on the wrong side of the busy street. I'm waiting to hear whether we were almost hit by a hipster terrorist or if someone's trendy radio lunchbox bit the bullet. The comments on Oregonlive are great and the pictures of the VW on KGW show us loud and clear that the police can and will break into your car whenever they want.
