I do not drink and drive.

I went out to dinner with another trucker we drank some beer.

The next morning I left out.

I got pulled over for 66 in a 55.

I made a comment while sitting in the car.

The car was full of crap I could barley fit in the passenger seat.

The comment was "if you arrest someone where do they sit?"

She snapped at me "there is room" so I shut up.

She gave me a breathalyzer .036.

I asked "can I see it".

She said "its already gone we do it twice anyway to make sure".

I blew in it again and asked "can I see it?"

Once again "its already gone".

Then she pressed some buttons on the hand held breathalyzer and showed it to me .036.

It had been 11 hours since I had had any thing to drink.

What do you think GLP?

I do not drink and drive but is it possible to blow a .036 after 11 hours??

BTW I got a ticket for "detected the presence of alcohol".

I have a lawyer working on it to keep it off my license.

So far it is $475 plus fines.

Thats what I was wondering.

Just to be sure I sat there on the side of the road for 24 hours too scared to drive even tho I felt fine.

Call me paranoid but I do not drink and drive.

It takes roughly an hour to clear a standard drink. But things like medication, metabolism, habituation to drinking and eating can affect this rate. People also forget how much they actually drank when they start drinking too much. Maybe you had a drink or two when you got back to the house.

If you have a CDL it is a crime in every state.

They fuck truckers as much as they can.

When "deregulation of the trucking industry" came in truckers became the most regulated employees in the US.

You can work 24/7 if you want a trucker is only allowed to work 70 hours a week.

The rules are fucked up.

we work more then 70 hours we just do not log it.

Truck drivers make less then minimum wage but nobody that has any pull will investigate it because TPTB are heavily vested in the transportation industry.

If I remember correctly there is zero tolerance for any alcohol in your system if you have a CDL. Best bet is to shut up about it. Anything you say can and will be used against you.

Remember this is the "New" America, where you are guilty until proven innocent.

it's a stupid law a to z.

if someone's in a wreck and drinking then charge them as no accident otherwise forget it. the law does more harm than good - and is meant to. the law is meant to support illegal immigration and more police.

Guilty till proven innocent.

At the moment I am just trying to keep it off my license.

The ticket is only $127.

But I would rather pay the $475 plus fines if it stays off my DMV report.
