Extremely bright flashes in the SE sky. Charleston, WV.

Is this what you saw? My post is the second one. It may have been about the same time. I knew it was around 10 or a bit before. What I saw appeared to be over the DC area.

I was out there and seen it too. I am in Huntington. Look like bright lighting to me but the skies are clear.

Forgot to mention that it was SE here as well.

Mid west Ga.> Right now looking east > beam of light> GO Look

coming all the way down> too far away to actually go see> but clear beam of light coming down> going back out< no good night camera so don't ask< just go look east

pretty interesting lately sky watching:) Back in the 80's upstate NY Canada border best light show ever< this is different though< weird< it was straight up and down, now at an angle

oh yeah and ps sky crystal clear here too> saw one flash< not real bright but one flash nonetheless> be back in to check here later see if anyone else seeing any beams and flashes< went out with flashlight< shit floating in the air is crazy> looks like fallout< take a light out and look up

I saw something very similar in Texas last night. I was out longboarding with my friends and there wasn't a cloud in the sky or anything else bright except Venus and Jupiter. All of a sudden there was a bright white blue flash of light on the horizon that letup the entire sky for about 2-3 seconds then everything was dark again. Happened sometime around 10 or 11 I believe

We had one in SW AR last week. Not a cloud in the sky and then the biggest brightest white flash that seemed to linger and the one hugh boom. Nothing blew up around here and it woke our neighbors out of a dead sleep.

Saw something similar down here in South Texas as well.

I live in Rhode Island and also have seen bright flashes tonight (MANY!!!) its like the light that lightning would give off and skies are clear.

Also, reports flooding in that Boston is without power
