Are you people so delusional that you think a "paid shill"(if there really is such a thing) would waste his/her time on a website that at BEST is considered LUNATIC FRINGE?
The moniker "shill" is used on this site when one poster makes a claim that usually has no basis in scientific reality, and is subsequently debunked by someone who knows what they're talking about.
It's the equivalent of saying "Nuh-uh, Mr. Poo-Poo head!"

I was once an advertising shill. Lasted one month because I am not a liar, fake, fraud. If advertising agencies do it, you can bet your butt government agencies do.
I guess the difference there is advertisers actually *get* something for their money. The problem with the hypothesis that the government is trying to marginalize and discredit you...is that they don't *need* to. Conspiracy theorists are already marginalized by their very actions and nature.
Feel free to test my hypothesis. Go up to random people in the mall, and start handing them pamphlets about how we're all being controlled by underground Reptilian aliens or that the sun is really a wormhole for aliens to use to stage an invasion against us, and try to engage them in a conversation about it. Take note of how they don't question the notion you just presented to them, politely take the pamphlet, and try to get away from you as fast as possible. This is them wanting to get away from the crazy person.
The only people you can convince of these things, are the ones who are already prone to believe it anyway. Aka other paranoid people.
The government has no need to silence conspiracy theorists because it's an entirely closed society. 'Normies' dismiss you without any assistance whatsoever.
And most importantly, for the many of us who are 'moderates', meaning we may believe in a shadow government or stuff like that, but think stuff like the devil being *actually involved* is simply ridiculous, we have a unique experience regarding 'shills'. Because if someone says my idea is crazy, I don't think they're a 'shill' because all I have to do is look over at the next that that *I* think is crazy, and realize that that guy thinks *I'm* a shill. So the guy debunking me is probably no different than me. Just a guy, who thinks an idea is stupid and crazy.
Whether or not you believe the government is trying to discredit you in Internet forums is one of the clearest signs of paranoid schizophrenia there is. The belief that someone is out to get you, combined with the belief that you are important enough for governments to be targeting you.
You go and tell that to ANY shrink in the world, and they will immediately start scribbling on their prescription pad. Not because they're 'with them' but because regardless of what you think is going on, there IS a disease called Paranoid Schizophrenia, and it DOES have very specific symptoms, and ARE expressing the classic, defining symptoms of that particular disease.
So maybe, just maybe...you can try to get a wrangle on your psyche and consider that just maybe there's a possibility that you aren't going to turn into a being of pure energy on Dec 21, 2012 and guide humanity to a new plane of existence through the wormhole in the sun. Or Whatever your particular flavor of 'I know all the secrets' herpaderp is.
