Message Subject I have very bright blue eyes and they are extremely sensitive to the Sun and light......

Some days my eyes get so bright, people ask me if I'm wearing fake contacts. My eyes are very sensitive to light. I think that is one of the reasons I prefer grey, darker days. At times they become deep blue, but it all depends on my mood or weather. It's actually quite weird. Anyways, why would my eyes be so sensitive in Sun light? I know other people who have green, brown, hazel, and even blue who do not have this problem. I have never met anyone with the type of blue eyes I have, however. They get extremelely bright and piercing. I have done some searches on it, but never really came up with a logical explanation. If I shut my eyes, I can alomost see everything around me and when it is dark, I can still see (not 100%), even without my contacts. I'm somewhat baffled by this.

I have really bright light blue eyes a lot like what it sounds like you have.
My eyes are kind of sensitive to light, but not super sensitive.
I'm guessing hair color and skin tone probably play a bit of a role too.
I have brown hair and medium skin and tan fairly well.

My mother and sister are very blonde with very fair skin that doesn't tan at all. Like me and you they have very bright light blue eyes.
Their eyes are very sensitive to light much like it sounds with you.
My brother has dark blonde hair and dark blue eyes and tans fairly well.

My father has brown hair and dark blue eyes and tans pretty well.
Their eyes aren't that sensitive to light.
Of course dark blue eyes don't tend to be as sensitive as very bright light blue eyes do.
It seems too people with brown, black, or even dark blonde hair, and not so fair skin with very bright blue eyes don't tend to be as sensitive to light as people with very blonde hair and very bright blue eyes do.
Btw my mom is Swedish and my dad is German/Austrian.
