A Week of BAD Insomnia & I feel GREAT! WTF? Diet, Excercise & Creatine HELP???
OK...So I have basically been following the "Body for life" program.

This is a lifestyle change approach to getting in shape. About 5 weeks ago I started hitting the elliptical for 20-30 minutes a day, pretty hard. I then bought a weight set, and some dumbbells. I got started with the elliptical and the weights BEFORE I discovered Body for life, and I had already dropped about about 10 pounds, and started feeling great. I have been mostly experimenting with the weights so far; finding my minimums and learning proper technique. I have done several solid work-outs and have made sure to get adequate recovery time in between.

Once I found Body for life, I started LOOSELY following the program based on what info I found online in forums and such. I ordered the book for the program and decided to put off officially getting into the program STRICTLY after Easter because of some conflicts. This program stresses nutrition, eating portioned protein & carbs, and eating 5 or 6 small meals a day. This I have been doing for about 2 weeks. I sub two protein shakes for meals. I have been eating chicken, turkey, vegetables, cottage cheese, yogurt, fruits, almond milk, etc. I haven't been a saint, but I have remained surprisingly disciplined for the last few weeks and especially the last two when I started eating the Body for Life way.,

Some other things I want to say. I am a 45 year old male. I was up to about 220, with a good deal (about 23%) body fat. I wasn't a tub of lard as I am 6 foot, but I was certainly headed that way. Last SUNDAY I quit smoking. The day after, MONDAY, I began CREATINE Loading, in anticipation of getting more serious with the weights. So I was taking 15-20 grams of creatine mono, pharma grade, not cheap junk.

Well Sunday nite, that's the last time I slept through the night. I have been falling asleep, usually around 11pm, and then I find myself waking up about 1.5 to 2 hours later. I can't seem to get back to sleep. It has been taking at least 1 hour to get back to sleep, sometimes two or three. When I fall back to sleep, I wake up again, usually within 1-2 hours. I think I got 4 hours total Monday night and maybe 3-5 hours total every night since.

THE FUCKED UP THING IS....you'd think I'd be a mess with this lousy sleep pattern. Well it hasn't seemed to affect my physical energy, or my mental acuity one FREAKING BIT!!!
I haven't felt like napping. Generally I feel great and I don't know why....BUT THAT SCARES THE SHIT OUTTA ME when I haven't slept 5 fucking nights in a row...KNOW WHAT I MEAN????

So a search leads to some people complaining about the CREATINE doing this to them. Most people say BS, CREATINE will NOT cause insomnia...

The sickest part of this is that I don't want to stop taking the CREATINE.... like I'm part of my own sick little experiment...

SO tell me what you think, PLEASE????!!!!!!

You realize a hour of hard cardio will burn like 110 calories?

And you resting metabolic rate, woulda been like 90 anyways? 20 Calories burned... better not have a cookie you're going to have to do 6-8 hours of cardio to burn that off.

Some of the most intelligent and impact full people were known for only sleeping 3 or 4 hours a night.
