Sigh, it's all answered in the above. We are wired differently than men. Human beings that deserved equal treatment, just different. Why do men stick their hands in their pants and grunt. I find a lot of the articles pretty shallow. They'll put a "deep" usually meaningful and insightful article way in the back of the magazine. I think the thing that bugs me the most is the constant obsession on "how" your "boyfriend" "needs" to make you feel special, important, wonderful by "doing" all of these "little" things for you -- or how to spice up your relationship with different sex moves, more "special" dates and nights out... ... by the end of it, I'm exhausted, tired and I ought to feel great after a good shit! The emphasis is overwhelmingly on WHAT IS YOUR PARTNER DOING FOR YOU AND HOW IS HE GOING TO MAXIMUM EFFORT TO BE ROMANTIC/SWOON YOU/UTTERLY DEVOTE HIMSELF TO BUYING YOU THINGS AND DOING "SPECIAL" THINGS FOR YOU. Smacks of entitlement. And as the OP pointed out, so much of the "advice" is TRITE. Women love little "quick fixes" to everything, they LOVE cliches. They also glorify SLOB celebrities like Jennifer Lopez (I know things about her from a good personal source with direct contact with her and I know for a fact she is total, utter scum). Magazines like that are unhealthy. Read The Atlantic Monthly or Mother Jones instead. I should also point out men's mags like "Maxim" are total trash as well. Playboy, Maxim, Penthouse. Shallow mags are not just for the fairer sex. "The wise man's home is the universe." ~ Democrites Catch the blue train...somewhere down that crazy river. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 8798818 United States 03/20/2012 09:42 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Is it a good idea for women to be wired like that, even as they claim to be "equal to males?" Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1266576 Lol. If women always need "Ideas!!", then why do they complain so much? Split people into two groups: doers and thinkers. Men into doers, women into thinkers (and for sake of argument forget the Venn overlap areas :p). Now imagine, as you question if it would be better in such a way, that everyone are doers. Everyone's always busy doing something, never stopping to think if something else might be more worthwhile. No one stops to analyze if what's being done still serves a purpose. How much innovation would there be if everyone was wired as a 'doer'? If you like, you can picture the opposite. You'll realize the flaws are endless at either end of the spectrum. We NEED both types of people to survive. Fact is, I am of the opinion that we currently have FAR too many 'doer' types like yourself and could use more 'thinker' types. And no, I am not a woman. But I obviously appreciate them more than you. |
