Greek philosophers called 13 an 'imperfect' number. A months 13th day will fall on a Friday if the month starts on a Sunday. Coincidentally, the year 13 A.D. began on a Sunday. The fear of Friday the 13th is called paraskavedekatriaphobia. Try and pronounce that. Every year has at least one and at most three Friday the 13ths. Triskaidekaphobia is the fear of the number 13. Napoleon and President Herbert Hoover were both said to have irrational fears of the number 13. Famous people born on Friday the 13th include Samuel Beckett (13 April 1906), Margaret Thatcher (13 October 1923), Fidel Castro (13 August 1926) and Steve Buscemi (13 December 1957). Thirteen is significant to Christians because, at the Last Supper, 13 people were present (Jesus and his 12 apostles). The superstition dates back to at least 1700 BC Ancient Babylon's Code of Hammurabi omits the number 13 in its list of laws. In 1882, 13 people formed what they called the Thirteen Club. Their goal was to combat the bad status that the number 13 received. Thomas Lawson, a stockbroker from Boston, wrote the book Friday the Thirteenth. It is about s persons attempt to crash the stock market on Friday, the 13th. By a stroke of fate, the stock markets 1989 mini-crash occurred on Friday, October 13. The movie Friday the 13th, which tells the story of the doomed Jason Voorhees, is the highest grossing horror franchise in the country. The second-most is the Hannibal Lecter series. Many hotels have no room number 13, many buildings do not have a 13th floor, many airplanes do not have a 13th row, and many ships will not start a voyage on the 13th, particularly, Friday the 13th. An approximate 15000 were captured of killed....The Templar fleet escaped and went to various locations. Incidentally, the Battle Flag of the fleet was a skull and crossbones...and attributed to them being called pirates and hunted..It did not work. We are still here.
