Fairies stop developers´ bulldozers in their tracks
By Will Pavia and Chris Windle
VILLAGERS who protested that a new housing estate would “harm the fairies” living in their midst have forced a property company to scrap its building plans and start again.

Marcus Salter, head of Genesis Properties, estimates that the small colony of fairies believed to live beneath a rock in St Fillans, Perthshire, has cost him £15,000. His first notice of the residential sensibilities of the netherworld came as his diggers moved on to a site on the outskirts of the village, which crowns the easterly shore of Loch Earn.

He said: “A neighbour came over shouting, ‘Don’t move that rock. You’ll kill the fairies’.” The rock protruded from the centre of a gently shelving field, edged by the steep slopes of Dundurn mountain, where in the sixth century the Celtic missionary St Fillan set up camp and attempted to convert the Picts from the pagan darkness of superstition.

“Then we got a series of phone calls, saying we were disturbing the fairies. I thought they were joking. It didn’t go down very well,” Mr Salter said.

In fact, even as his firm attempted to work around the rock, they received complaints that the fairies would be “upset”. Mr Salter still believed he was dealing with a vocal minority, but the gears of Perthshire’s planning process were about to be clogged by something that looked suspiciously like fairy dust.

“I went to a meeting of the community council and the concerns cropped up there,” he said. The council was considering lodging a complaint with the planning authority, likely to be the kiss of death for a housing development in a national park. Jeannie Fox, council chairman, said: “I do believe in fairies but I can’t be sure that they live under that rock. I had been told that the rock had historic importance, that kings were crowned upon it.” Her main objection to moving the rock was based on the fact that it had stood on the hillside for so long: a sort of MacFeng Shui that many in the village subscribe to.

“There are a lot of superstitions going about up here and people do believe that things like standing stones and large rocks should never be moved,” she said.

Half a mile into Loch Earn is Neish Island. From there the Neish clan set forth to plunder the surrounding country, retreating each time to their island. Early in the 17th century, the MacNabs retaliated from the next valley, carrying a boat over the mountains, storming the island and slaughtering most of the Neishes.

This summer Betty Neish McInnes, the last of that line in St Fillans, went to her grave — but not before she had imparted the ancient Pict significance of the rock to many of her neighbours.

“A lot of people think the rock had some Pictish meaning,” Mrs Fox said. “It would be extremely unlucky to move it.”

Mr Salter did not just want to move the rock. He wanted to dig it up, cart it to the roadside and brand it with the name of his new neighbourhood.

The Planning Inspectorate has no specific guidelines on fairies but a spokesman said: “Planning guidance states that local customs and beliefs must be taken into account when a developer applies for planning permission.” Mr Salter said: “We had to redesign the entire thing from scratch.”

The new estate will now centre on a small park, in the middle of which stands a curious rock. Work begins next month, if the fairies allow.

That´s fair. If the rock has historical significance to the town it should not be disturbed, why the rock is significant shouldn´t matter. I doubt a developer would get permission to move the temple mount in Israel and that´s also just a rock to many people.

I believe in fairies.

Re: Fairies stop developers´ bulldozers in their tracks
I actually saw a fairy once, a few years ago. We were camping at the lake here, and I was dozing a bit inside the RV, looking out the window every now and then. I had just read the Doreen Virtue book, "Healing with the Fairies", and was meditating about them.

Suddenly, I opened my eyes and saw the biggest "firefly" ever, outside my window. It had a white light, not a green one, and it left in a hurry, leaving a cool trail of white light behind it. This was just a few seconds total. The body was at least an inch high, but I didn´t see if it was like a human body or an insect. It happened so fast, and I was startled. It looked like it was just as surprised as I was.

I felt in my heart that it was a special gift to see. Never saw it again, and I always look around for them, wherever there is a lot of nature, which is all around here.

A special hello to In-Dn out there!

Greetings In-Dn!

We are doing ok. Kind of boring tonight; think I´m shutting down to play solitaire!

Posted on the thread about the object in the S. sky; checked it out tonight, and it´s really big. It´s not Venus or Mars, and it bugs us to know what it is! It´s visible just after sunset, for a few hours.

Other than that, it´s quiet tonight........

Sure can see it, every night. We are about 50 miles from the Oklahoma border, in Ark.

If you´re closer to the city, you might get a lot of light pollution, but it´s so big, I can´t believe everyone doesn´t see it. It really reminds me of Venus, but Venus just isn´t in that position, at that time. Same goes for Mars.

Wouldn´t mind one bit if it were either of those planets, cause this one worries us a bit......

Wouldn´t stop developers under the Bushco regime. They´d claim imminent domain, move the rock and then piss in the hole left behind.

Them fairies don´t like to be messed with.

If you thought the Secret Services were good at ´suicides´ the fairies are Zen Masters.

The building company would be well advised to find an alternative location.

My personal belief is the aliens of today are fairies using contemporary images/themes to interact. Hence the similarity with the time distortions.

If you look at the history of alien craft and beings they are always just ahead of us (floating boat with anchor in 1890´s, Mars and Venus visitors until we porbed those planets then they came from other galaxies).

Always one step ahead of the proof.

They cannot divulge much and

Emperor - that thing is an herb!? WILD.

On Coast to Coast Friday, George Noory had a caller. The guy said he lived in northern California, someplace rural, two miles away from the nearest neighbor. He said his office is on the second floor of his house, with a big bay window overlooking the front, circular driveway, which is gravel. While in his office, he heard footsteps outside, and the crunching sound of the gravel. When he looked out, to his great surprise, there was a small child standing behind his parked car. He got his 13 year old daughter (the only other person in the house), and went outside to look. When they first got outside, they didn´t see anyone. Then, they walked around the car, and there stood a tiny man, 2.5´-3´ tall! The guy described him as having a beard, long messy, stringy hair, and buckskin boots. In other words, an adult. He said the clothes were ratty looking. The three just stood and stared at each other. Then the little guy made what the caller described as a grimace - half smile, half frown. Kind of menacing looking. The little guy´s teeth could be seen, which the caller said were green. This made the daughter start screaming. Her dad turned to look at her, then back at the little guy who was gone.

I seem to remember hearing, and I don´t recall where, that same thing about there being these little people, and that they have buckskin boots. Are these leprechauns (sp), or elves, or trolls, or what? Does anyone know? Has anyone seen one? Do you think the little guy really WAS menacing, or just looked that way? Had the man and girl reached out to him, would he have bitten them? I´m so curious about this!

Is the rock a lodestone? The Fairies/Devas might use this as a portal and that is all. They prefer to do so in isolated areas, not in the inside of a housing development.

Fairy armies have been seen marching thorugh fields - one such army was dressed in traditional ´toy soldier´ get up - red jackets, white strapping, black boots.

There was also another case of children coming across three ´smurfs´ in a wooded clearing driving little cars. The children palyed with them for a while (chasing, hiding etc) then excitedly ran to tell the teacher at the end of the break.

The teacher was on the ball and had the children split up and write their accounts with pictures. All the accounts were identical with the exception of one child who said that none of them had beards (although he corroborated the rest of the sighting). I cannot remember which country it was......

Seen the Littles myself, nasty little creatures usually.
The fairies? Like orbs,Pokey sometimes manifesting as that elf.But it is so eerie.I am intimidated by it even though it is friendly.

Forget the cute stuff in any of this.i don´t know where that came about unless it was not to frighten people, make light of it.

Yes, forget the cute stuff - they can be vindictive, petty, violent and underhand.

On the other hand they are more enlightened than us in a number of areas.....

And there are fairies, elves, leprechauns (solitary buggers), kobolds and gnomes (to mention a few) - all with their own dress and rules.

Very interesting once you start looking into it.....

naree pods!

i thought the word was merri pods.

roman posted a pic of this in glp photos...

i saw that discovery channel show.

these naree pods are highly revered by the monks.

they are living creatures attached to the trees like flowers.
they talk and sing.
they have been studied by our us scientists and found to be 100% organic material.

on the same show was the tiny elephants who live in the forest bottom with poisonous tusks.
they are rare but they were also studied by our us scientists and found to have bones, ribs, an entire TEENY TINY SKELETON under their elephant skin.
the dried bodies are sold in the village squares.
again..found to be 100% organic material.

i think fairies are definitely real, although ive never gotten to see one.

i get this fairy circle of mushrooms in myyard every year on the north side.usually just shy of a complete circle.
i think of fairies every time i see it and walk very carefully around the circles.

this world is smack full of wonder.
