I have reset it; re-installed the driver and nothing.

What do you suggest I have to do in my firewall?

ipconfig /release

echo The IP address has been released. Waiting to renew

ipconfig /flushdns

echo The DNS cache has been flushed

arp -d

ipconfig /renew

echo The IP address has been renewed
pause

Copy and paste that shit between the lines into nutpad and save as fuckit.bat on the desktop.

Double click and when it says press any key, do it and its over. Your ip will be released, dns will be flushed and the ip renewed.

This a non toxic fix.

Try harder, download inSSIDer check to see what your numbers your neighbors have and try to be 2 numbers ahead of what they set. So if they use 6 you use 9.

inSSIDer will also tell you how strong a signal you got.

I think you said you have a strong signal, just nothing working.

Try putting this in your browser:

[link to 74.125.224.194]

just in case the above doesn't show in the post: 74.125.224.194

It is an IP of Google.com

This will at least see if you are actually connected but have a DNS problem.

What kind of device are you connecting to?

Why are you using a wireless LAN utility program when you could just use windows zero config. Don't use both..

Look on the back of it if so and you will see a reset button.... in a tiny hole... press and hold for a few seconds and the unplug it for a few... Same with a modem.

If this method wont fix either come back here or smash it all with a ball peen hammer. hf

THATS the problem, open the lan utility, check uses windows zero configuration.
The software is conflicting with windows zero config... had it happen to me too.

Cheers!!!

"network autentication unknown"

Check your event log
Dude if this is error 1747 you will need to reset winsock.

For the above error, simply reset winsock by
1. Start-Run-cmd (if it is windows vista or 7, right click cmd and click run as administrator).
2. Type netsh winsock reset, press enter, and restart the computer.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 11332100

Click Start..Run

Type in: CMD

This will bring up a black window

In the window type in: ipconfig

Hit enter

You will see lines simliar to:

IP Address: 192.168.0.50
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.0.1

Might be multiple areas look for the one with a wireless adapter heading.

If you see numbers in the IP Address that start with 169.x.x.x you are not getting an IP from the router

If you have something else, write down the Default gateway and put the numbers in your browser (Like where you type www.google.com but put only the numbers instead)

If that brings up a web page with a login or just a login prompt you are connected to your router.

If you do get to the router try to login.

What type and where is the router you are trying to connect to? Linksys etc.

Zero config is built in the windows software so you don't have to install some crappy utility to use your wifi. You simply install the drivers without the bloatware then use windows to connect to whatever router.

What they don't tell you is if you want to use the utility to go to run and type services.msc and disable the zero config.
