What is the difference between instinct and intelligence? | |

Intelligence is the ability to choose, to ignore or try to control the biological instincts. Humans have both. Some instincts are harder to control than others but we can and do manage to control many of our instincts. In some cases, we ignore our instinct when we should be paying more attention to them as in cases where we ignore our gut feeling of danger and then come to some harm. Other times, it is our instincts that can cause people to panic. |

One brain or nervous system grows into the body, and the other into the cerebral crap you find in the head. So when people say trust your gut instincts, or think with your heart, they are really indicating that there body is wired to a 2nd brain that in terms of evolution, is highly developed, more unconscious, and all-knowing than all the head-games in the world can often process.... actually your heart has immense neuronal connections, and your vegal nerve, the longest cranial nerve, connects the mind/body together... even if you give someone an organ transplant they soon gain memories, emotions, and habits of the person they inherited the organ from... how is this possible? is it really just some new age quantum holographic phenomena? No... Again, when a person is made in the womb, two nervous systems immediately begin to develop. One is found in the body and the other in the head... For good optimal health, they have to work together like a fine tuned instrument... go figure! |

"Now the works of the flesh are manifest, and they are fornication, uncleanness, loose conduct, idolatry, practice of spiritism, enmities, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, contentions, divisions, sects, envies, drunken bouts, revelries, and things like these. As to these things I am forewarning YOU, the same way as I did forewarn YOU, that those who practice such things will not inherit God’s kingdom. On the other hand, the fruitage of the spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith, mildness, self-control. Against such things there is no law. Moreover, those who belong to Christ Jesus impaled the flesh together with its passions and desires." Ga5:19 |

Intelligence tells them a barn offers comfort, food, shelter. When afraid, a horse will run to comfort, protection and shelter....back into the burning barn. Is that intelligence, instinct, both, or neither? Ahhh, such philosophical questions. |

I really think most people ignore their instincts completely these days because they have no use for them when everything is right in your face. "I collapsed a lung, screaming at the face of ignorance. I fell victim to the excuse of hatered." - Crater "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it" - Voltaire "Some feel the rain, others just get wet" - Bob Marley |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1621970 Yeah, like the human race for instance and our failure to defend ourselves from Satan's reign of terror; "But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self-assuming, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, 3 having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, 4 betrayers, headstrong, puffed up [with pride], lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godly devotion but proving false to its power; and from these turn away. 6 For from these arise those men who slyly work their way into households and lead as their captives weak women loaded down with sins, led by various desires, 7 always learning and yet never able to come to an accurate knowledge of truth."
