Microsoft plans to sell 4GB Xbox 360 Kinect bundle for $99, with a 2-year contract to Xbox Live... Privacy concern?

Sometimes I feel like my console is really intuitive with the voice communication. Like it knows what is being said and alters things.

I dig my kinect, seriously I do. I like how it has come to recognize me when I approach my kinect range, it signs me in and boots right to gears of war 3 with just a few words spoken.

Do they watch me?, what a boring show I must put on. What would they gain from watching a middle age gamer beat the shit outta kids half his age while drinking Jim Beam and laughing at them?

agreed..while some conspiracies land up being true..there is something a lot of peeps into conspiracies fail to acknowledge and that is the majority ..and its a BIG MAJORITY of all conspiracies are just mumbo jumbo and land up never being true..ever!

Thats not to say the government wouldnt use a camera on a laptop or phone to use for monitoring a criminal or some sort of illegal activity..i am sure they do or will at some point but to use Kinect to spy on which are mostly kids and teens or adults that happen to be into gaming? Come on...

that two year contract comes to a whopping $360 bucks ..most people are not going to jump head over heels for this deal..thats a total of 460 bucks when its all said and done.

Not to mention, this would give incentive to purchase the new console, since they have this 2 year service agreement with xbox live. When the next gen consoles come out, people will be clamoring.

They're trying to sell the GAMES, its all about the GAMES you see.
Not the cheap shit china made box to play them on.
Because you see there are now devices emulators that allow you to play games from downloaded iso files.
And any idiot can use them you don't have to be smart and know about flashing and such.

I like mine. I figure they're not going to learn anything terribly interesting even if they were to spy on me with it, and I really like the voice command and motion controls for netflix; it's almost minority report-esque when you're scrolling through a video's timeline. The games are pretty fun for parties too.

I have nothing to hide. I game the shit out of my unit and my gamertag is nothing special, it actually shows I don't game as much as I'd like to.

I bought a telescope. A 12" dobsonian with all the better EP's and filters. The water is too cold here 10 months outta the year, and a motorcycle will get you run over by the cage drivers here within a year.

I run with the 2" Baader 31mm, the Baader planetarium filter and sky haze, and a Barlow doubler as my main most used setup. I'm trying to score a televue ethos in the near future, thinking somewhere in the low 20mm range.

Fascinating, that's an aspheric eyepiece? I haven't had the chance to try one yet, but I think you'd be very well served by an ethos as well.

Yes, it is very well made compared to the free EP's that come with the scope. It feels like a grenade in your hands and actually it acts like a counterweight to the Dob at times if the adjustment knobs are not set right.

I definitely have the Ethos on the wish list, I used one last summer on another scope at a star party.... Pure eye relief beauty.

Yeah, it sounds like Baader's answer to the Panoptic, and it sounds like a very nice piece of glass. I myself have a 32mm "super wide field" from Meade which is their not-as-nice version of a Panoptic, also very grenade-like. Of course I'm more of a camera guy for my own scope, but I love looking through the big dobs at star parties.

I wouldn't kick a Meade super to the curb, I almost bought a set of those when I was deciding on what direction to take. I've seen most of your work that is posted, and various videos. The video with the jet blasting through was a great catch.

I can't do camera yet, it really doesn't work well on a Dob except when landscaping local mountains. Keep up the great work Astro, some of us appreciate it.
