A bit of interest to note, I saw this on the bathroom wall my first day of selling this week: "It's hard to dance with the Devil on your back" Your poem reminded me of it. Reminded me a bit of this as well... Never let em see you sweat. Difficulties strengthen the Mind as labor does the body... ~Seneca |

Think Mother and Father... I named it Ariel's Lament due to the first line mirroring the Hans Christian Anderson sad version of the Little Mermaid. Ariel's Lament So hard to walk out in this world, each step is pain But there's a thing about the dance that makes us dance again I'd give the world to show you, but I can't feel you anymore Didn't think the world would fail you and take me for the whore. The wide and daunting road ahead feels false and I'm afraid I don't have the voice to beg you and no time left for masqurade You always said I lacked the foresight to know what I had done And you always had the insight to see just what we'd become But you never felt the freedom of the wind upon your skin You watched and never walked it, always thought it was a sin If I thought you'd learned the lesson of a love that's given free I would drag down all the heavens just to bring you back to me. |

People often don't cherish what they have because they compare it to the illusion of happiness and clean, dissected pornographic images. Sometimes happiness is being in the emotional state you are in and learning it's lessons. |

Yeah, you sold me down the river flush with bitter misery Isolation, love, becomes me in more ways than you can see But I'll raise you double nothing and never blink an eye The stakes seem too important to allow us room to lie. I saw the game before you. You could say I see straight through you. So now I'm the one just sitting here waiting I hear you talking in circles with nothing to say But the rush of the flush has got me thinking This is the hand I was meant to play And there's never been nothing that you wanted so much You say you'd tear it all down for just a single touch I'm the one, I'm the one, but I'm not the one for you. They say when dancing with the devil, the devil changes you As you can see I'm not affected so that story can't be true Or did you tell it backward to hide the lies you've told Thinking I would never discover the lies you've sold? You shake your head and tell me that I've got the story wrong But look into my eyes and see what I've known for so long There's an angel and a devil used to push us to and fro But in games with odds like this, I'll choose the devil that I know. I wrote the script we're playing You should see what they're all saying. So now I'm the one here sitting here waiting Got the hand of all lifetimes and I'm calling your bluff I see you wet from the sweat, lip all a'trembling Are my games a bit too rough? And there's never been nothing you'd compare to this You say you'd tear it all down for just a single kiss. I'm the one, I'm the one, but I'm not the one for you. You're all in now You're wondering how Killing sacred cows My secret, special tao When you sat down to the table, you were conceited, convinced And you thought you could play me, but there's something you missed I own a soul that's suffered and let it all go You came here playing God and left a devil that I know. That poem reminds me of this video. |

Keep repeating the lies loud enough and long enough and just maybe the people will start to believe the lies again and good luck with that...finding your energy open until mars becomes raging aries... |

He’ll only laugh. I liked your poem; the structure held your narrative together well. I’m afraid I get bogged down when I try writing poems much longer than a haiku. Perhaps we should start a poetry thread? Green love from Jim, the Taoist Hermit And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams - Acts 2:17 (KJV) |
