If you are intelligent to enough to Google breed characteristics and spew your findings here, you should be smart enough to know that animal aggression and human aggression are two different types of traits.

A pit bull was bred to fight other dogs, not to fight humans, any dog that bit a human/handler/ref/spectator was put down immediately. This is selective breeding, they bred dogs that wouldn't redirect their bite to humans during a fight or after when they were injured. Because of morons, thugs and other pathetic human beings that wanted to own these dogs for their ego they started to breed away from these principles and this is why you hear of all these mixed breed dogs biting people. I'd rather be in a room full of Pit Bulls than a room full of Labradors or Golden Retrievers.

FYI I am completely against dog fighting and I find the brutal act of it completely inhumane and pathetic. But when someone bothers to read more than Google, they can learn a little more than a few biased opinions that you can find online from people that probably never even met the real breed to begin with.

Pit Bulls have been giving a bad rep. They are a breed of dog just like any other. If they are trained to be mean they will. If a poodle is trained to be mean it will. I've never owned a pit but several people I know have. All of them have been very friendly and playful as you want to see in a family pet. The story that started here was about a pit bull saving his master from getting hit by a train. I suppose if this would have been a Collie(Lassie) no one would be making this big of stink. Get over it. A loyal K-9 saved his master's life.
