Has it ever occurred to any of you Preppers that some of us Non Preppers are barely making it by at all? That sometimes we barely have enough to pay the bills? In my household, it goes like this: rent first, then bills, lastly food. NOTHING else until we get a little extra money. Do you preppers ever stop to think that maybe the true horror is not having enough to get by? All that matters to me right now is that we have enough to pay the bills? If the SHTF, it might be a blessing in disguise because then maybe just maybe we won't have to pay the bills that month

I've seen very wealthy people make the same argument you are making now. They are living beyond their means, have their credit cards maxed out, have their children in all manner of money pits, and have no extra income available for Prep investments.

But it's all just an illusion. If they would reduce their standard of living by moving out of their big house into an economical one, sell off the summer home, sell off the expensive Beemers, and cut up their credit cards, cash out some of the investments, and sell the boat, they would gain the extra income to invest in their future survival.

So unless you are already dirt poor by Greek standards, you should be able to tighten the belt, so to speak, suck it up and prepare for your family's future now.

It's just another of your insurance policies, after all.

I suspect most Germans, even the ones with very modest incomes, live better than 90% of the rest of the world, considering that most of the world have never even ridden in a car, much less owned one. It's just a matter of perspective for most.

YMMV

This is true for many folks. Living without extra cash because of all the little bells and whistles of life distracting them.

For me though...

I'd say that I'm living pretty bare bones. I do what I can to prepare, but I definitely fall short.
I have a gun and lots of ammo, but I live amongst a neighborhood of people that would converge faster than I could pull the trigger.
I just don't have enough money to move rural and stock up on food and supplies. It's just not possible for all.

But, for those that make it possible, they'll have a VASTLY better chance at survival.
