I like the sticking together option most of all.

Make plans with those who DO have a means of survival so that you can help each other.

In my personal example; I have a gun and ammo. A buddy of mine lives on an Indian reservation on a river that leads straight to the Atlantic. He has enough canoes for the two of us, a few extra folks, and plenty of supplies.
Our bug-out plan is to meet there and set off if S ever HTF.

So, if you're lacking in resources, team up with your friends so that you can help each other. Nobody is saying that you have to face the apocalypse on your own.
