I enjoy reading about wilderness skills, bushcraft, survival stories, and post-apocalyptic fiction, but what's with all the GUN PORN?

How come GUN PORN is so entwined with survivalism?

Yeah, you might have to get violent in a dangerous future to save your ass, I get it. But geez, so many survivalist/preppers are obviously drooling at the prospect of using their expensive armory to kill dozens of other people when TSHTF.

Is your life really worth that much that you could be justified in killing so many people just to propagate your particular strain of DNA? Maybe you wouldn't even have children and perpetuate the human race in a post-apocalyptic world and yet you're eager to blow away dozens of fellow humans?

I'm a man quite able to defend himself but I'd rather learn how to create wooden utensils and rain-proof shelter than dwell on various guns with various bullets doing various nasty damage to other people's organs.
