More than $500,000 worth of medical equipment stolen from Florida Hospital last week may carry a dangerous disease.

Police issued a special warning Friday after the equipment was taken from the Center for Diagnostic Pathology at the hospital's main campus in Orlando.

Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease will not turn you into a cannibal. Look it up.

Hmmm, also says CJD is thought to be caused by a protein called a prion. A prion causes normal proteins to fold abnormally. This affects the other proteins' ability to function. Yeah I'm not counting it out just yet.

Apparently there's reports of a news blackout in florida, if anyone is there, can they comfirm?

My husband's mother died from this disease a few years ago. Contaminated make-up containing animal byproducts. She became disabled very quickly. Not a violent bone in her body. Brain turns to mush. No motor skills. Death.

If these machines were contaminated due to CJD, this is not the culprit.

Our local news channels are not reporting on the "face eater". I am not sure if there are other counties closer to Miami that are reporting on it. I don't watch too much local news, however with the storm being so close I have paid close attention this past weekend. Nothing.
