The TB vaccination is called BCG. It is a number of tines stamped into the skin. I have had it 2 times. As vaccinations go this is a pretty good one. I would have another one.

That is exactly the location they do a TB skin test.

Vaccinations, on the other hand, are usually intramuscular (given in the thigh, shoulder, butt).

And, the weird thing is, a TB skin test has to be re-checked in 48-72 hours to tell if it's positive or negative. There is absolutely no point to giving him a TB skin test unless they were expecting him to return in 48-72 hours for a re-check.

So... why give him a TB skin test at all if results are not instantaneous? There is *no point* - other than it leaves a red mark on the forearm (which he can reference when he tells his story for the camera).

Who is this guy? Has anyone verified his identity to make sure he isn't a plant there to scare off other protestors with his "forced vaccination" story?

as far as i know, everybody who goes to jail for more than 3 days gets a tb shot. leaves a little round welt on your arm for a couple days. if it goes away, you're clean... but i think if it swells it means you have tb? all i know is that i wasnt allowed out of my cell until i was cleared of tb.

2-part TB test takes about a week. 2 shots, with two inspections, iirc.

you probably would want it on long-term inmates. TB is a big deal. they've got a plague of drug-resistant TB in Russia. we don't want that here. it'd be worse than even the MRSA/necrotizing fasciaitis crap we've got to deal with now.

and try not to get too freaked out about cancer viruses and such. keep your vitamin D levels at high normal, and your immune system will be able to handle insults rather well. the old vaccines were a problem because they used monkeys to provide items like kidneys to culture vaccines on. this was very early in the development of the science, and the risks were not known. it was a bit like learning to deal with radiation, which took a lot of the scientists with it.
