Stars in the sky

The stars at night up in the sky
So far away and up so high.

I have watched them since I was very young,
Just a child, my life had just begun.

I thought and wondered what they were,
They were bright and shiny, that was for sure.

Twinkle, twinkle little star,
How I wonder what you are.

Thoughts and dreams may be in the stars,
But there are so many and so distant and far.

As I grew older, the stars never changed,
Still in the same place as they had been arranged.

Things have changed from day to day,
Life has many experiences I would have to say.

Good times and bad times and every thing in between,
But the stars are in the same place or so they seem.

Sometimes they streak across the sky,
A shooting star or maybe a dream gone by.

When you wish upon a star,
Makes no difference who you are.

No one can take your dreams away,
They are in a star for a certain day.

I have placed many dreams in the stars,
Seemed like a better place than a mason jar.

A few dreams have come true over time,
So I know they do happen, even when there is no sunshine.

You don’t see the stars when the sun is out in the day,
They hide in the dark and ask you to come out and play.

Life is trying at this time,
And it feels like darkness even in the sunshine.

But in that darkness the stars do hide,
Keeping those dreams that you have down deep inside.

We all have dreams stored in the stars,
When God says NOW, they will all be ours.
