You're wrong about that; it's too sweeping a generalization. The only thing to feel bad about later when it comes to kicking the shit out of criminals, is the hours of paperwork and explanations if you get caught at it and are called to justify it to a long line of bureaucrats. In short, it's just what the cops have to go through when they do their jobs and have to argue with some idiot who's never had to work the real streets. You can't complain about the weeds taking over your garden and choking the life out of your valuable plants if you're not willing to get in there and do some of clean-up on your own - same case with society, in case you're too up in the clouds to understand the metaphor.
