I'm with ya SC “One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If we’ve been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. We’re no longer interested in finding out the truth. The bamboozle has captured us. It’s simply too painful to acknowledge, even to ourselves, that we’ve been taken. Once you give a charlatan power over you, you almost never get it back.” – Carl Sagan |

Just reported on CNN..i will update the thread once there is an article to read..so far its only breaking news headline at the top of [link to www.cnn.com] Quoting: Cat Mouth Istanbul (CNN) -- Western leaders roundly condemned the downing of a Turkish military fighter jet by Syria ahead of a NATO meeting on Tuesday on the issue. U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Sunday said she had spoken with Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu about Friday's incident. "The foreign minister briefed me on the specifics of the incident, including that the Syrian military shot its plane down without warning," Clinton said in a statement. "The United States condemns this brazen and unacceptable act in the strongest possible terms. It is yet another reflection of the Syrian authorities' callous disregard for international norms, human life and peace and security." The Turkish Foreign Ministry said Sunday it considers the action to be a hostile act. Turkey delivered the message in a diplomatic note to the Syrian consulate in Istanbul, calling the incident "a hostile movement," ministry spokesman Selcuk Unal told CNN. Turkish search-and-rescue teams found the wreckage of the fighter jet in the Mediterranean Sea on Sunday, about 1,300 meters (4,260 feet) underwater, he said. [link to www.cnn.com] ------------------------------ Update: Clinton condemns Syria for shooting down Turkish jet WASHINGTON — US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton condemned Syria on Sunday for the "brazen and unacceptable" shooting down of a Turkish fighter jet and vowed to work with Ankara on a suitable response. "It is yet another reflection of the Syrian authorities' callous disregard for international norms, human life, and peace and security," Clinton said in a written statement. Clinton said she spoke with Turkish Foreign Minister Davutoglu on Saturday to convey "grave concern" about the downing of a Turkish F-4 fighter jet by Syrian forces. President Bashar al-Assad's government said it downed the F-4 Phantom on Friday after the Turkish jet violated Syrian airspace. Probably smoking pot and trafficing CIA cocaine out of the Mena Arkansas airport with her bisexual husband. [link to www.iranchamber.com] ^^ |

That Whicked Witch from the West should shut up. Turkey had no business flying into Syrian airspace to spy on Latakia base of Russia. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 18501707 I asked the question before and got no answer. What would happen if ANY country flew their jet TOWARDS Israel's airspace or USA's? I say "APPROACH"! I think you all know what I mean. FUCK Turkey and FUCK Shillary Happens all the time. It was quite routine for Soviet bombers to "wander" into US airspace, not just approach, but actually enter. Did we shoot any of them down ? No, they were asked to leave. So put that in your pipe and smoke it. US and Russia - during cold war they would have gotten shot down...now not so much. It can happen yes, Israel constantly flies into Lebanon and they never shot them down either....yet. Syria is at a state of war, being attacked, and Turkey is helping. They sent those guys to spy on a Russian base, different story. It happened quite frequently during the cold war. Here are just a few incidents that I can provide. March 15, 1963: Two Soviet reconnaissance aircraft intruded into US airspace over Alaska to a depth of 30 miles. The aircraft entered US airspace over Kuskokwim Bay and flew in US airspace for about 30 minutes February 27, 1974: In the An-24 incident at Gambell, Alaska, a Soviet An-24 aircraft, low on fuel, made an emergency landing in Gambell, Alaska. The crew remained on the aircraft overnight and were provided with space heaters and food. The next day they were refueled and departed for home.[3] Besides you just contradicted yourself so your argument is in valid to say the least. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 18501707You try to paint the US as the bad guy, yet your Russian "friends" are much worse and will turn on you quicker. They didn't even wait 2 weeks after Japan surrendered until they started shooting at US/UK aircraft that were no where near Russian airspace. and there was that time in top gun, with ice masn and maverick they were russians |
