***NEWS - PD drugs cause gambling habit - "induced mania" from chemicals?
I found this on a different website, looks interesting..........

[link to www.breakingnewsblog.com]

[link to www.seniorjournal.com]

[link to www.wpda.org]

K - all links say the same things :

"Seven PD patients on dopamine began to gamble within a month from an increase in the dosage of the dopamine agonist. None of them had a history of gambling. Most stopped after an adjustment of the drug therapy"

"additional behavioral problems included compulsive eating, increased alcohol consumption, increased spending and hypersexuality"

"Eleven patients with idiopathic PD had recently developed pathological gambling. All patients were taking therapeutic doses of a dopamine agonist; 3 of them were not treated with levodopa. Pramipexole was the agonist involved in 9 of 11 cases. In 4 patients, gambling resolved after discontinuation of the agonist.
This behavior might be due to a disproportionate stimulation of dopamine D3 receptors, which are primarily localized in the limbic system"

K - so, it begs the question, to conspiracy theorists like us here, that if Dopamine drugs can cause problem gambling - is this what is behind the huge increase in gambling in our society?
And sexual maniacs?
And obestity/eating disorders?
And drug and alcohol abuse?
And running up debt because shopping [for whatever] is just so much fun?

These 'bad habits' have increased WAYYYYYY much in the past decade compared to any other decade in recent times.
They are all forms of mania, where you get carried away completely by your imnpulses.
Also, ADD, ADHD - "the impulse control" condition that has become much more prevalent recently {and that there is specific drug for...

One thing that keeps discussion quiet of the causes of manic gambling, and the others mentioned, is that there is a great deal of SHAME associated with them. SHAME because we are expected to have some degree of SELF-CONTROL over such activites.
But, if that self-control is LOST or taken away , on purpose, by chemicals or specific drugs, then there really isn't any basis for feeling shame ; its not a self-control problem, its an imposed mania.

This "shame paradigm" is used against us a lot. Personally, I am constantly being told how my addiction to morphine is my fault, my weakness, lack of character - despite the fact that I got it all from DOCTORS as a way to treat my severe chronic pain. I even asked before I took any - is it addicting? [no, not at this dose the Doc said, Mom was there too]AND I asked later on -AM I ADDICTED? and the Doc said"no, these symptoms are 'this or that condition'.

People just 'go there', its been drubbed into them to BLAME people no matter what their problem. Its part of a mindset that says "any problems people have in this wonderfull corporate world of ours is their own fault, so don't blame medical industry, or chemical industry, or government regulation, etc etc.
Blame the victims!!

So , back to mania - PD drugs can cause problem gambling. Astounding, considering its not the other manias, just the chosen ones that someone is making money off. Organised crime gets in on it, as does medical and chemcial industies.

Gambling, Sex, and Shopping - if I asked "how are these three things connected?", would you have said "caused by chemicals" ? No, not likely, not before you read this post. \

"dopamine agonist drugs" were quite possibly developed to cause manic reactions. They could have been put in our drinking water. In fact, they do wind up there after we pee them out, pharmaceutical drug remanants have been found in water supplies. so its hard to tell if they were put there on purpose or not, which is another way this works out so well for the perpetrators.

"Meant to disable not to kill" - do you remember where that came from? - USA army manuals for developing biological weapons to be used on civilian populations. Specifically, it started out as something to be used on post WW2 Germany {Dr. Garth Nicolson, etc.]

In the past 10 years, the number of gambling casinos, and CHANGED LAWS to allow gambling, is evidence to support this action of "induced mania".
What really freaks me out it this SEXUAL attraction to children. There is just no basis for it that I can see, it cannot be fun like sex with adults. It must carry a huge amount of shame and guilt.

Personally, and be warned that this is graphic and too personal to post publicly but someone has to say it: I have noticed that in the course of my experiment with celebacy, the times when sexual inspiration overcomes me are accompanied by certain "manic" thoughts and fantasies. "Find a really SLUTTY girl" who likes "Doing it over and over" , and yes, one time recdently I was abhored to find a certain excitement over a girl that was "too young". Normally, and immediately after ejactualion, these thoughts evaporate and I am disgusted by them. I am NOT like that at all - I have 'infinate respect and compassion' for females, and would not have sex with a woman that was 'out of her mind', too drunk, or whatever kind of unhealthy attitude towards sex might exist. I respect myself enough that I would not take advantage of that situation.

Pornography has a lot to do with unhealthy sexuality. Perhaps in combination with these specific "manic-inducing' drugs, they have combined to cause this incredibly insane condition we see all around us.

Shopping!!! - I feel GOOD when I whip out my wallet and can pay for an item. Doesn't matter what item, its the paying power that titilates. Do you ever feel that?

Anorexia and Obesity are manic too. Over the top. Just can't stop doing it. In the "induced mania" of its attraction [not eating, or overeating]. Both grew at alarming rates in past two decdades too.

Well, I ve said too much, esp personal stuff. But someone had too, and I am not embarresed, and I am not guilty of acting on those manic impulses. We all have them at times, and most of us do the right thing and "put them down". Self respect seems to be one of the last lines of defence, and "they" are chipping away at that too!

Great comments!!!! BUMP!

Actually, I used that drug for a while, but it did not change my personality or habits. Maybe for some it does, but it did not for me. Some people report getting "creepy thoughts" or "strange thoughts" while using it, which alarmed me although I did not get this either. I stopped taking that drug anyway and went back to L-Dopa for my symptoms. Old, tried and true and it works although you have to take more and more. sigh. There is always a down side.
