Target Syria
A great deal hinges on the talks in Geneva tomorrow morning. It is a predictable failure in the making and much is being made of humanitarian issues and the like.

The real target at issue are the chemical munitions that Syria possesses and the competing interests to secure them in a variety of ways.

talks start in about 4.5 hours. the keeners on the junior staff are already finalizing their notes for the breakfast meeting with their own delegation before the big meeting. by now, though, it's just about impressing their bosses. the talks will achieve nothing and everyone knows it.

Woah! A D. Bunker thread about Middle East war. Been a long time. Welcome back.
"God forbid we should ever be 20 years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, & always, well informed... If they remain quiet under such misconceptions it is a lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty... Let them take arms... What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants. " - Thomas Jefferson in 1787

Re: Target Syria
Very interesting - I just read this interview with Mark Dankof - what do you guys think? I'm now confused some reports say they came to an agreement, others say the talks failed? ?

[link to www.presstv.ir]

Press TV: OK, Mr. Dankof let’s look at how significant the Russian role is in all of this? It seems that during this meeting in Geneva now actually it was probably due to the flexing of the Russians that Kofi Anan said in talking about this transitional governing body that would be representative of all parties that are involved in this situation including the Syrian government. How significant was that statement in your perspective?

Dankof: Well, I think when you look at these talks it’s clear to me that what is likely to emerge is one of two things either the talks will fail or there will be an agreement that ultimately will still guarantee as far as the agreeing powers are concerned that Assad will ultimately have to go.
It’s kind of a heads I win, tails you lose proposition as far as the American expression is to what happens when you call heads or tails, when you flip a coin.

It seems to me that what we have here is a circumstance clearly where the United states and Britain and France and Israel want Assad out at all costs and it is clear that this involves Netanyahu’s desire for a war with Iran.

And yes it also involves the agenda of the international banking community as the EIR guest has chronicled on your show but we need to remind ourselves of the fact that when you speak that way that ultimately whether it’s American banking or British banking or what have you it is still ultimately a Jewish power game that is involved here.

And ultimately it’s a situation where if the United States and Israel and Britain and the international bankers that control all of these governments don’t get their way the talks will simply collapse.

Press TV: And how likely do you think that is to happen? Do you think that so far that the talks have at least enabled these other entities from obviously not entering directly and how long do you think that that could continue?

Dankof: Well, I think what clearly has to happen is that behind the scenes Vladimir Putin has to make it clear and the Chinese have to make it clear that they’ve had enough of this monkey business, they basically were pulled on like a heated flying suit as my air force father would have said in regarding going along with this no fly zone UN resolution that involved Libya which proved to be nothing more than a prelude to what it was that NATO and the United States and the Israelis really had planned for Libya.

kitty Hi D. Bunker nice to see you back. Basically I think that over the last 20 years or so that they have been dispersed to so many places throughout Syria that only a fraction of them could ever be 'safely' disposed of. In fact as this well written article says I believe that Israel will suffer great loss because of them.

Syria and Egypt vs. Israel - One Last Time
The Destruction of Damascus by Glenn Allen

In 1996, the Lord drew my attention to certain verses in the prophet Amos, with an accompanying revelation that a fourth and final war between Syria and Israel will be a significant milestone in Bible prophecy signaling the approach of the end of this present age. The verses were:

"Thus saith the Lord; For three transgressions of Damascus, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have threshed Gilead with threshing instruments of iron: But I will send a fire unto the house of Hazael, which shall devour the palaces of Benhadad. I will break also the bar of Damascus..." (Amos 1:3-5, KJV)

The revelation was this: Syria has engaged war with the State of Israel three times (1948, 1967, 1973), but the fourth time will bring about Syria's downfall, marked by the total destruction of its capital city, Damascus. This will be a prophetic sign of an even more significant event to follow: a direct invasion of Israel by Russia, supported by Iran (Persia) and Russia's other allies as described in the book of the prophet Ezekiel, chapters 38-39.
As if to confirm the above, I also came upon this verse:

"Behold,Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap." (Isaiah 17:1)

Note: Many people overlook the fact that both Syria and Egypt have modern NK/China equipped missile plants, and of course the stuff to put in them.

they cam to an agreement among themselves that couldn't be implmented in syria. avoided escalation of a big power dispute but did nothing for syria. i don't think much of your quote -- israel and "jewish power" isn't the decider here.

It's airstrikes on Gaza, so far no casualties. Nothing about a ground incursion, but those happened lately too.

But this has been ongoing since weeks...lots of other stuff so not breaking news at all.

July 18 at sundown? It's the new moon, or at least within 24 hours of the new moon, definitely the beginning of the darkest nights in July. Now I wonder why that would be important..hmmm.....

I'm not so sure on that, Nato can attack whenever it wants all assets needed are in place, just the order needs to be given, night superiority is theirs, only complication would be the russians helping defend assad in which case they also have the same technology.

It is true that NATO is not limited, but they have a pattern of choosing the most beneficial times to their operational plans when they can. Due to the apparent mission and the parameters involved, I would expect cover of darkness to be crucial for both ground, air and combined efforts. As to long range naval operations, this will be of less value.

Agreed. Also, the first Gulf War began just after the new moon, and the Syrian reactor was taken out when the moon was near its third quarter, and I could be wrong but had the impression that the Iraqi reactor was destroyed on a new moon as well. I've noted oil prices often spike around the new moons, not always, but frequently. Has anyone else been watching oil prices as we approach new moons?

USS Lincoln has entered the 6th fleet ands the Stennis is being surged toward the 5th fleet. This will place 2 carriers in the med and 2 in the persian gulf area once the Stennis arrives.

Positioning the Lincoln in the 6th fleet is unusual.
