WV without power, gas, and grocery stores out of stock/closed?

Thanks for the info. My sister in the country near Spencer is expecting power on by Monday.

Went to check on my mom yesterday. She has been without power now for 9 days. I hooked up my generator and heated her water to shower and filled her bathtub with water to flush her commode. They are saying that power may be restored by Sunday or monday.

I drove back to the interstate on a back road and there is all kinds of lines down and trees across lines along this 8 or 10 mile stretch of road. Looks like it hasn't been touched yet.

FEMA is delivering water in a haphazard way and they have ice available at the local firehouse. The local grocery stores and gas stations in the closest town are open now.

Wow! They need to get on that..

I lost power yesterday and I got it back in the middle of the night from bad winds from a line of storms.

Careful everyone!

My husband is a food stocker in West Virginia. A lot of stores didn't get stocked because nobody anticipated the storm. Once the power went out people freaked out and bought everything up.

Called mom last evening and they are still without power. She said that she saw 3 or 4 utility trucks go by on the road near her house which is the first activity she has seen.

FEMA is now out of ice and no ice to be had anywhere close by. She said she has already lost all her perishable foods anyway, so she doesn't really care.

She asked me to pray for them last night and I did. She is lucky to have had food stored and water readily available.

Just so you know. It's 12 days and counting now and my mom still has no power.

I hope she is getting everything she needs!

I will be thinking about her. I cannot believe there are still people without power after 12 days!

Mom called about 7 pm last night and she has her power restored. 13 days.
