I tried to dig a hole in the dried up creek so that the deer have something to drink. I never hit water!! I live in northern Illinois and its getting bad here...
Quoting: never96 do you have a big bucket or wash basin (that stainless steel one) or something, and place it far enough away from the house they feel safe getting to it? i am absolutely hoping there are no new fires. I once had a dog bowl (larger one) out for my dogs. Sadly a mother hen and her chicks came to it while I was in the house (I didn't own them) and all her poor chicks drowned in the bowl of water about 7 of them! It was heartbreaking! I wonder if we should place shallow bowls out or tall water buckets out? Any suggestions?
