My 4 year old was walking around with a dead frog, obviously totally dried up, and he said "Dad, he's hard as a nut." Thought I was talking to Andy Griffith or something :)

When it's normal temperatures, I see frogs every day, turtles sometimes, snakes at least weekly (they usually scare the crap out of me as I'm walking through the yard)....can't say I've seen anything in the last month other than what my son found.  it's bad indeed when you don't see anything. this is why i am planting as much bee and butterfly plants as i can. even where i am, where there is rain and everyone gardens, not seeing many bees.
