July Crop Comments:

[link to www.agweb.com]

7/4 - Montgomery County, Mo.: Corn is cooked/zero.

7/6 - Greeley County, Neb.: Dryland crops are gone. Was hoping for some rain so they would make silage. But haven't gotten any. We have only had 0.41" since June 1 and 2.25" since May 1. Pastures are gone and have had to start feeding cows. The first two cuttings of hay were less than 20% of normal and it doesn't look like there will be a third. Trying to decide if I should sell the cows or spend $40,000 on hay.

7/6 - Summer County, Tenn.: Hot and dry. Corn crop was already in bad shape before last week, but the triple-digit temperatures really have finished it off for good. Everything is burnt up.

7/4 - Southwest Nebraska: Dry is an understatement around here...it's just plain miserable. We have only had 5" since Jan. 1, nothing over 60 hundreds in one shot. It's been anywhere from 95°-114° every day for the past three weeks, with dry south winds. Most of the dryland corn is burned up and not tall enough to make silage. Irrigation wells are struggling to keep up, some guys are abandoning irrigated fields to save others. Even the milo doesn't look like it's gonna make it. Surprisingly the dryland beans are still optimistic about a rain, they are holding on but not growing. The cow situation is dire. The pastures never greened up this year and our hay crops are only a third to nothing of normal. Massive culling will expand soon. The wheat crop was fair if it was on fallow ground, otherwise it was a federal crop claim. This is the first year in a long time that we are not harvesting wheat during the Fourth of July, the only problem is all the festivities are canceled because of the high fire danger.

on and on and on.

map of heat records broken in june 2012:

june2012heat

I feel bad for those who live in cities as i had lived in some rather large ones. And I know there will be many very good people that will suffer from food doom. I wish every person could live on 2 acres in the country. Life would be more pleasant for all. I cant say what works for all but i am blessed to have 2 acres and good ground. What has worked for me wont work for all but i like to share what I know.

I plant my corn and pumpkins and cabbage and black beens in the same plot . 10x15 foot plot. I work in straw from the chicken pen and mix that with rabbit turds from winter. once it all starts growing i surround each plant with straw from the chickens coop again. By this time the veggies are stronger than the weeds. i have LOTS of weeds. But my veggies are all growing like there on steroids and they are all heirloom. Not sure why the big fuss about weeding..never seem to hurt my crops for the last 16 years. Spread my corn stalks and you will see daisies and other wildflowers growing with my beens and pumpkins and corn etc..

peas-cucumbers-cherry tomatoes-sweet peppers-jalapeno peppers-lettuce-radishes-squash-onions-carrots are all growing in some type of container with a mixture of rabbit turds, chicken coop straw and topsoil mixed together. Get creative with vining vegetables so they can climb up.

For meat I have 3 pretty does and one lucky buck that likes to f---. Lots of meat and fertilizer. We have 8 laying hens with 1 duck that lays also. 2 roosters and 9 young hens. We get 6-9 eggs every day.The duck is the most reliable layer and the biggest egg. And NO duck eggs dont taste different unless you feed them different from chickens and mine all free range.

2 pygmy nubian goats that we milk for the moment. And belive me that when your milking 2 goats it becomes your drink of choice.Because there is so much.

But even I rely on others feed for the goats rabbits and chickens in the winter.

Planting your veggies in pots is the best way for small families.

Have fun people.

here's the thing: farmers are the ones who are REALLY watching the weather. weather is everything. understand that these reports are coming from a very mainstream source, which is why what they have to say is so shocking.

i appreciate all of the comments and feedback from my first farm report update...GLP'ers are a very smart group of folks. i don't care if this thread gets pinned or not, i just want to get this info out to you all.

i will probably post these updates weekly, as they are published, because awareness needs to move beyond wishing for ice cubes and into understanding what these weather changes mean for all of us. why all the spy drones? why all the control and loss of rights? i believe the answer is RIGHT HERE. take away the food and you take away all moral codes.

One third of the earth will be destroyed as the angels pour fire from the four corners of the Heavens
Friday, July 6th, 2012 @ 04:15 pm

My dearly beloved daughter the time has been set aside so that these, My Holy Messages to the world, are heard by every soul, young and old, throughout each nation.

Many of God’s children will sit up and listen to My instructions if they are given access to these messages.

Know now that changes have already begun as prophesied where the crops will no longer yield their fruit as before and when the seasons will no longer be the same.

These changes are by the Hand of My Eternal Father as He brings in new laws of the earth which no man will fail to notice.

Nothing in the world by the laws of nature will remain as they once did.

The seas will rise, the waters will pour, the earth will shake and the soil will become barren.

My Father will impose a great chastisement to stop the spread of sin which is a source of great sorrow for Him.

Those nations which defy His Laws will suffer much. They will soon understand that their sins will no longer be tolerated and they will be punished.

Their punishment is to prevent them from infesting other souls and unless they change their wicked ways they will be forced to do so through divine intervention.

My daughter you must spread My Word quickly now as The Warning draws closer.

Many nations must be given the Book of Truth so that they can prepare themselves for My Second Coming.

The time for My Second Coming will be after The Warning.

Chastisements, handed down by the angels in Heaven, by the command of My Father, have commenced in stages. These will continue to escalate as sin continues to surge.

The battle has begun and the early stages can be seen in many countries.

You will all bear witness to climate destruction which will rain upon the earth as it groans in pain because of the degradation of sin.

The shaking will increase and nation after nation will suffer according to the stain of sin which corrupts its core.

Leaders who follow the anti-Christ will note scape the eye of My Father and they will be destroyed.

My Father punishes those who lead wicked governments now in order to salvage His children from their wicked grasp.

He will not stand back and watch as these leaders, who follow the anti-Christ who remains hidden at this time, destroy His children.

One third of the earth will be destroyed as the angels pour fire from the four corners of the Heavens.

Then many will know that something is wrong and that is caused because of the anger of My Father.

Yet many will still not learn. After the Warning, many will convert. Yet many won’t even when they are all given the proof of the state of their souls.

They will still idolise the false allure which they think the earth has to offer. Only this time their lusts and those material idols they worship will become even more obscene and wicked. All their sins, visible to all those who can see them for what they are, will become so ugly that few of God’s children will be able to bear to watch.

Every abhorrent sin will be publicly displayed with contempt for God.

Every action will degrade the sinner to such depths that they will behave like animals.

All respect for the human body will disappear and every evil lust will be flaunted for the world to see without any shame in their souls.

These are Satan’s prisoners. All of them are children of God but they will lose their souls to the beast.

Chastisements are part of God’s plans to cleanse the earth in order to purify both the sinner and the ground you walk on.

Only when the earth is purified can My Second Coming take place.

Pray, My followers, for the courage and the fortitude to deal with thee chastisements.

You must never fear them for you, My army, will pray for those, those nations and help in the purification needed for the conversion of humanity.

The Seal of the Living God will protect each and every one of you.

It is because of the love My Father has for all of His children that he must chastise them for if He doesn’t they will march forward, unwittingly, towards the gates of Hell.

Your Jesus

Last year in Texas we didn't even have two cuttings of hay - we only had one and it was less than half yield. Much of our cattle was sold off and cattlemen and dairymen were going up north to get hay.

This year we have had amazing hay so at least we'll have some to sell back to some of the folks north that helped us last year.

People didn't starve in Scotland and Ireland through the early 19th century because of the one virus that destroyed one crop, it was because everyone was exporting all the food they could to pay ever increasing taxes, the potato blight was just the last straw. Only now we have no where else to go, so get creative and grow your own food even if it's hydroponics or earthworms in the basement. China is in a multi-year drought and has depleted their aquifers trying to grow three crops a year, so are buying up land and food exports in South America and Africa, and by selling them food and energy supplies in record numbers Obama can claim he has boosted the GDP and export numbers.

In spite of the heat and drought, here is something you can grow indoors to add to salads and main dishes.

I would advise everyone to grow something ! Do not depend on the supermarket for everything you eat.

You can grow lettuce and herbs in a container on a windowsill. Hanging baskets, flower pots on a small porch

Tips, ideas, and resources for sprouting.

another great idea brought up by a poster in one of my other threads:

wash your dishes in a sink bucket. save the water, save the rinse water. use it on your plants.

this means, do not use toxic detergents for your soap.

don't worry, people all over the world have done this for hundreds of years. wait till you get to washing your clothes by hand. :) in water you had to haul.

this is why anon613 said what he/she did:

While it is widely known that the pears were the largest part of the diet for several weeks in mid-summer, the plant was used in many other ways. The pads, especially the younger ones, can be eaten year round – direct evidence from Hinds Cave coprolites (dried human feces) suggests that the pads themselves were eaten often. When moist grass or herbs were not available, the pads were used as green packing material providing steamy moisture and chemical compounds that helped bake lechuguilla and sotol. The pads could also be used as containers and even canteens. Prickly pear can also be used for many different medicinal purposes including treating burns, wounds, and diabetes. During the tuna harvest, prickly pear was THE most important food in the region, and ranks with pecans and buffalo as a critical seasonal resource.

Large stands of prickly pear are a signature component in many areas of the South Texas Plains landscape

ok, one more time, for those of you who missed it.

1) australia has been in el nina for 2 years (flooding, etc)

2) this summer in the next few months, they have el nino coming at them.

Fears of drought as El Nino raises its head

by: Jamie Walker
From: The Australian
July 04, 2012

An increase of 0.5 to 1C in ocean-surface temperatures in Pacific waters around the equator and changes in air surface pressure fanning towards Australia are telltale signs of an emerging El Nino pattern.

The measure, known as the southern oscillation index, was strongly negative at -11.8 yesterday, pointing to a departure from the wet weather.

Dr Watkins said farmers in southern NSW and northern Victoria were already reporting dried-out topsoil after rainfall last month was 60-80 per cent below average.

USA:

[link to www.circleofblue.org]

A drought in the Midwest United States threatens what could be a record corn crop. U.S. farmers planted 39 million hectares (96.4 million acres) of corn this year, the most since 1937.

By Codi Yeager
Circle of Blue

Wheat, soybean, and corn crops have been damaged by dry weather across three continents. Official production estimates have remained largely unchanged, but the dry weather has worried investors and threatens to create food shortages in North Korea.

The droughts come at the tail end of a La Niña weather pattern — declared neutral in late April — and ahead of tentative forecasts for a developing El Niño that could further roil agricultural markets.

Good job as usual! Many people out there have no idea how bad its gonna get. I deal with alot of farmers and Ag consultants, many believe that a good prtion of salvaged crops will still be sold overseas making our market dire. Even if we get loads of rain and temperature reductions our die. is cast, can't turn back time,

hi samanthasunflower, good to see you here caring again!

yes the prices are going to skyrocket. that is why i suggest buying NOW, before july 21. this is what the report says, so do it even sooner. once the report hits the public, it's a market changer. the 21st is a conservative estimate.

wait for next week's report. be prepared.
